I've been noticing on all the new pickups fresh off the truck the only protective covering the Mustang's have on them is that strip of blue bubblewrap that was cut out like teeth. Does this seem unusual to anyone?

Nope not really, Perfectly normal. Some vehicles are wrapped entirly in white plastic that has to be peeled off, then a special detergent is used to be certain no sticky resedue remains. Other vehicles come with very sparse packaging.

I worked at a Ford dealership as a lot porter(my first fulltime job after highschool), my job was to take delivery of new vehicles, inspect them with the Ford QC checklist, unwrap them, wash them, and put them on the lot in nice strait lines.

still not sure I understand how that little strip protects it during shipping. If someone is playing bumper cars they should get fired.

If the bubble wrap really did help protect it i would not be surprised in the least to see "causious"(<---spelling) drivers riding around with layers of bubble wrap all over there car!

I'm sure it's just there to protect against very light hits and prevents the bumpers from being scratched. It is probably the minimum amount of protection these cars could have, but at least its something i guess... <_<

I'm guessing Ford's "bluetooth" is too prevent any damage from the cars josteling around on the truck from a hard stop.

Since it is put on in the factory, it also might help against stratches from the workers that are working around it to install things.
