Order Priority
I ordered 9/24/05 and have a priority of 30. They were going to try to change a order in the system to fit my needs and I'd possibly get it in 3-4 weeks. They called today and had nothing that they could alter, so now I'm looking at 6-8 weeks or more. They also said the 5-Speed manual and Active Alarm were on a Materials Hold, which judging from some of the post here seems fairly accurate.
Now my question is, how can I get the Priority number lower? Is that possible? Could the dealer lower my number and raise another that they had ordered for the lot? How does all that work AND does it all really matter? Any help is appreciated!
BTW - How do you have a Material Hold on a 5-speed manual? I mean its the standard tranny, and its a sports car for God's sake. I just don't get it.

Is your car serialized yet? If so, then your priority number doesn't mean anything anymore. Since you ordered 9/24, you probably are not in that situtation. The dealer can raise your priority all the way up to 10. It's a matter of you talking to them (sometimes begging). They could lower the priority of other orders and raise yours but that will take coercing on your part. Good luck on trying to get it lowered. Also 6-8 week wait seems low for a GT. I got my V6 in 8 weeks and I was priority 10. Anyways congrats on your order and your car will be ready, when it is ready. You can take my place in the waiting lounge.

The order number is important but the actual number is all relative to other orders that your dealer has. If he only has a couple sold orders and all the priority codes are 30 with no lower numbers in his system, then 30 is the lowest. Every dealer is different on how he/she numbers their orders. If i only had one Mustang order and put an 80 priority code on it; my 80 would be the same as another dealer's 10 as it would be MY lowest order number.
As for the anti theft and 5-speed, they are not on hold, just on short supply so Ford is only scheduling a certain number per week. So if you have both options, it is a double whammy.

Thank you for the info, it does help me get a better idea of what I'm dealing with. On a side note, my dealer did lower my priority to 10 yesterday.
All I have left to say is....Big money, big money, no whammy, no whammy..STOP! ( for all the "Press Your Luck" fans out there!)
I know I was waiting since June and still C/U on the fords 800#.......
Whatever they sent yea you can call Fords# up and see whats up with your stang gt.
Only Thing you will need is your Order Number,Dealer Number to get the Info.......
I feel there will be as many Gts as last year and not many more.
People have ordered as you see on this site since June and still Noooo Stang Gt.
If you are going to a dealer thats selling many Stang Gts then i will not worry too much, but if you really don't know, you might have a problem....
If you are paying Sticker why don't you check the fords website and see whats avalible in your area and call them up to see if its in stock.
If you are ordering now you might not get the car because they will be taking orders in June of 2006....JohnnyT
