Thumbs up

I ordered a Mineral Grey GT on 12/16/04 from the sales guy I bought my 2004 Ranger from last year. As of this week, the order hasn't been pulled yet (priority 10). He was going to sell it to me on the X Plan. As of this week, even after he learned I found one on "a lot" his sales manager refused to call their Regional Rep to help. That's the old news.

The new news. I drove 30 miles from my home town (which is actually now 340 miles from where I live today) and picked up my new Black GT yesterday. Pretty much same equipment as what I ordered. The better news, I got it for $60 under invoice (cheaper than X Plan). Along the way, everyone of my relatives living in my home town got to drive my new Pony! They never had the same desire to drive the Ranger last year. After varying speeds dramatically every three miles (over the course of 300+ miles) to break it in it's parked in the garage waiting for a wash tomorrow!

SO, feeling for those who are yet C/U here's my question. My "ordered" sales guy said they'd keep the order in place and take delivery of the Mineral Grey one. Do I call Ford's customer service on Monday checking on it's status (which I already know) and after hearing their lame response tell them to cancel the order? At the least, this might cause the sales manager a headache but more importantly would this help someone who is C/U to get bumped up?

I'll read the response and decide.

Its not your order. Its the dealerships even though it was originally in your behalf.
You cant cancel it and would look foolish trying.
I know how you feel though.

It will go against their allocation and Ford makes sure that cars (even GT's)
are distributed evenly throught the country.
I would look at it this way. Someone will go by and see it and fall in love.
They will buy it just like you did.

Whos to say your new Black GT wasnt someone elses order?

Thoughts to ponder......
