Dealer 1 - Yes sir, if you have an X-plan PIN we will definitely give you the X plan price on a 2005 Mustang GT.

Dealer 2 - Sorry, We just found out from Ford this morning that we are not allowed to do X-plan on the new 2005 Mustang.

So which is it???????

If FORD really has said "no X-plan" then I'll wait for a while.

Dealer #2 is lying to you. Tell him you are writing Ford and telling them, they are greedy and blaming it on Ford. Go to Dealer #1

Yep, exactly what he said. Don't leave out the part about letting him know that he is full of poo.

If you are looking to factory order, you won't have a problem. However, you might be hardpressed to get X-Plan on a car thats already in stock.

Dealers don't have to honor x-plan

I found a similar situation over here, dealer number 1 said MSRP only, dealer #2 said xplan is no problem at all.

My Dealer actually tried to pull this as well. I asked my friend that works at FORD and he checked....THey said it's bull and it's the DEALERS that are making that decision...He just wants to sell the car and if he makes you think you can't get the plan anywhere, you will buy from him....Foolish dealers don't know what they are up agains now with the internet and sites like this... :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: to the slimy dealer.

Dealer #2 should have just been straight with you and said they were not going to accept X plan on the new Mustangs. Laying it on Ford was, shall we say, rude.

In this instance, dealer #2 definitely earns as well as

Dealer #2 is giving you a line. Have them call this number at Ford for all A,X,D plan information. 1-800-348-7709 This is a special line for all plans. They just should have told you that they are not going to honor the plan (It's thier option). I called last week and was told that THE X-PLAN CAN BE USED for a 2005 mustang. Keep shopping around until you find a dealer who will honor it. Good Luck.

Thanks for the replies. I called dealer #1 back and he said he'd honor X plan on inventory vehicles or special order so as of right now #2 gets the ding ding kick and #1 gets my business.

I agree, but they should get punished for lying.
