God why? I just cleaned my car and i went to pull it in my darn garage and I cut it too close and scraped the wheel well a little bit and knocked the side mirror off the right side.

OH MY GOD

Question: Is this type of thing warranted under the dealer or is it comin off my insurance?

Wow, you really are an idiot! J/K, kaka happens. It can be fixed and no one but you will know of your driving skills. You didn't say how your garage took the abuse B)

Get a couple of estimates to see if it's worth reporting to your insurance.

You're kidding, right - about the warranty?

stinks about the car. Hope it doesn't cost you too much to fix. 66 is correct, pay for it outta yer pocket. Most likely the cost isn't worth putting a mark on your insurance history.

Uhm....warranty is not an option.

You can:

A - Submit it to your insurance company, pay your $500 deductible, and watch your rates skyrocket;

B - Pay the entire amount yourself; or

C - Just not get it fixed.

From where I stand, those look about like the only options.

Also, I had a fender replaced on my '98 last summer...it was just north of $1000. Gotta think a quarter panel on a newer car will be a bit higher. I wouldn't imagine over $2000 though. Just don't panic. In the end, if it is still driveable, you can wait until you can get the money together if you have no means of getting it now, such as credit. I know it stinks, but it'll get fixed somehow.

Word to the wise, don’t buy a car you can’t afford to fix.

Ok guys i jsut went out and looked at it with my dad ....

the dent is right in front of the wheel well, its not that huge. There are minor scarpes from the dent bback.

I think theyll be able to pop the dent and jsut repaint that small section ... i wonder how much that would be ...

also, I think i'll need a whole new side mirror even though its not "damaged" a plastice piece inside broke but the mirror, plastic aorund it and motor seem intact. But theres no way thaey can piece it back together i thin k ... so what, wthats $300 right there aint it?

I'm being optimistic here ... $1000 for everything ... which would push me back 2 months of payments .... but i guess i gotta do what i gotta do

If you can get by with just fixing the mirror, do it. Drive around with the panel all beat up until you can pay for that too.
