Officially pissed off my dealer
#1
Well, today I called, for the about the tenth time in ten days. And got final 'assurance' that my car will get built as an 05.
I wasnt told the dealer alotment, or any specifics like VIN/build week (I just ordered last week) but my salesmen said the GM himself assured me that it will get built.
So I feel good about that. But I regret that I've probably hurt my relationship with them by calling so much. I guess all I can do now is just stop calling, until they call me.
On the up side, and down side I guess, is that I am moving cities in a few months. So I wont need to bother them anymore for service. At the same time though, I wonder. My dealership gives something like free service for the first 100 thousand kilometres, or something like this.
If I move, how can I take advantage of this?

Don't feel bad about calling your dealer ten times in ten days.
Bottom line is your the customer and they're the dealer (a business). As long as you are respectful to them and they are to you it shouldn't matter how many times you call them.
When I ordered mine I called my dealer at least twice every week for five months. It even became a joke that my weekly calls were coming in. In the end I appreicated their patience for my eagerness to get my car and they appreicate a dedicated customer that will return for future purchases. Plus I will refer my family and friends. Thats how a dealer stands above the rest - customer service...
Good luck!

Exactly what jason said.
You (We) are the customers.
We're paying the bills.
Taking your phone call is part of their job.
How far away are you moving?
Sounds like a good reason to get the pony out and let her stretch her legs once in a while.

Yeah, why would you feel bad about calling your dealer? That is their job, to make you feel comfortable about your purchase.
As far as your free serive, my guess is that is non-transferrable to any other dealers. So, you're either going to have to take road trips or talk to a dealer near where you move and see what they can do for you.

I called myself daily and sometimes twice a day to see if my car was scheduled. It can be frustrating, waiting, waiting, but it is worth it.

hahaha. except, i tried calling the ERL and my canadian dora didn't give me the right info. i got all the way to the order number but she wouldn't recognize it.
BTW, if you ordered last week, I have a hard time believing that you'll get your car as an 05. i thought they stopped accepting orders anyways...maybe if you ordered a V6.

Yeah, I ordered a V6 and have been assured it will get built. We'll see. And hopefully the locate process turns up something.
I did order a V6 btw.
Also, I am in Canada. And after looking into it quite a bit, it looks like you cannot use the robot ERL system for canadian orders.
