Now that summer has really set in...
and the temps are way high, what measures do you take when driving your Mustang to work and leave it sitting in the sun? The interiors of our cars take a terrific beating sitting out in the blazing sun. Not sure what the interior temperatures reach, but it has to be well over 100 degrees.
Ours gets more driving time in the nicer weather months, so garage time is at night or when bad weather comes. I put a set of Mustang specific sunshades inside the windshield, plu, I drape beach towels over both bucket seats and lay a large beach towel over the backseat area.
Does anyone know of a rear window sunshade? That large, sloping glass attracts a lot of strong sunlight. What else can be done to protect the interior? Leaving the windows down not only invites unwanted attention from thieves, but also lets in dust and dust.
What do others do to protect their interiors during the summer, when leaving the Stang out in the sun?

I run a windshield reflective screen (in all my vehicles), the one I have for the stang is actually for full size trucks, I do have to squish it a bit, but the regular vehicle size (mustang listed) is too small and does not stay up. The rest of the windows have a dark tint (dont know the exact percentage, prob around 25%?) and that helps quite a bit. Vista blue on black leather is hot air wise, but the surfaces do not burn me.

You can get that alumized bubble pack at the local hardware store (usuall in the insulation section) comes in a variety of sizes/roll heights... plus roll of velcro dots should work, one in each corner and corrisponding position on window area. (Should work for back window.) Press to fit, in a couple of seconds... you're done.

get dark tint, park under shade if I can, maybe leave the windows cracked a tiny bit, depending on where I am. I feel like, if I treat the interior like I do, with dressings and such, the fading and all shouldnt be much of a problem, who knows?
