...so I just got back from nagging my dealer (Academy Ford in Laurel, MD) about gettin a VIN..since its' ONLY 'been a little over 3 weeks..(Oct 25th). They said they dont have a VIN yet. BUT orders (he said) are usually pulled on Thursday's (tommorrow) and would let me know Friday if it does get pulled. I would like to be optomistic and think that she will be here before the end of the year..but after hearing that the plant shuts down for 2 weeks in December (probably the last 2 weeks)..I dont think I will be seeing my car until the second or third week of January. :notnice:

Your dealer should know if it will be pulled tomorrow! They know what they have available as far as allocation so they know if it will be pulled. I have seen a lot of dealers string people along for weeks and even months with this same line. Why not just tell the truth? Oh I know, if they tell the truth, Joe customer goes to the next dealer who does have one available.

They should be able to tell you wether or not it is going to pull, they know. If they have an available unit of allocation for this week and you are next, it will get pulled. We know what weeks we have allocation, so it shouldn't be a guessing game.

So do you get a VIN as soon as the order's pulled??? I placed my order last weekend, and asked him to fax me the DORA tomorrow. Is that the right thing to do in order to make sure my order's placed and correct? What's the next step?

I placed my order the day after you, and received my vin and build week last Friday. Like others have said it could be an allocation issue at your dealer?

I ordered mine on Oct 25th as well and mine is showing up "Clean but unscheduled, not yet serialized" with Ford's automated line. My dealer quoted the same thing. The GM swears it will be scheduled this Thursday and he will have a date this Friday. Sounds like what we are hearing is consistent anyway....true and accurate, I do not know. Please follow up with a post Friday as will I and we will see if things continue to be consistent with our dealers.

If you have ordered IUP you may be stuck in material temp hold limbo right now. 5 of our newer gt orders jumped right into a material hold status.

If yours isnt serialized yet, then you may get the VIN this week, but I might expect another week or two to be scheduled. My vehicle was scheduled 2 weeks after I received the VIN. I ordered October 8th. Scheduled for 11/22-11/29. Optimistic hopes of early December. We'll see...

Listen, all of you guys can become impatient when you ordered 5 months ago, have been told 3 separate times your car is coming this week, and still don't have it.

Not really as impatient as trying to stay informed - I have seen your post's Dan and I will definately become impatient if I end up going through your ordeal.....best of luck.

So does that mean that if I placed an order at a smaller dealership that hasn't really ordered any 05 GTs then the chances are that I will have my order pulled sooner?

Is each dealer allocated a certain number of orders for each car and each type of car? For example a certain number of Mustang GTs, certain number of Mustang V6's, etc?

Im in the same "waiting for pull" boat with you guys. I ordered October 27. They always tell me to call on Monday to find out if my order was pulled, he says it takes a while for the computer to be updated. sure. He told me they are allocated about 2 a week, and only 2 others were on order... based on that it should have been pulled already, but it hasnt! I was so hoping to have this car before the end of the year!!! dang! Please, keep me updated as well, with your status...for comparison sake.
