As good as that sounds, really there comes a point where it's overkill. What I mean is, if the 300 hp 4.6 isn't enough, you can pump it up to run over 500hp fairly safely. That kind of power on the street is enough to satisfy most urges.

I guess the hard core racers will appreciate it more, but to me the Mustang is al about a blank canvas to modify.

I'd be perfectly satisfied if a bone stock S197 ran mid 13s in the 1/4 mile.

I'm not sure what your are getting at here, because they do exactly that in V-8 trim. I'm also surprised at the number of people waiting for the Boss to show up as an OHV design. I think it is pretty telling that the only reference to an OHV design for that motor has come from the mouths, and key-boards, of those who would like to see one and not any of the leaks.

The Boss is getting an OHV V8 if Ford knows what's good for them.

Sonic Blue: I'm suspecting that the clutches aren't "bad", its just that they may need a bit more friction modifier to quiet down. I also suspect the S197 GTs are getting the 03-04 Cobra carbon fiber clutches from the factory, which should be a LOT grippier than the standard clutches on the T-Lok. I'd try more FM before ditching a tried-and-true LSD.

Add to that a popping or clunking front end.
