I agree with the signature size limit. Some people's signatures are just huge because of giant fonts or whatever, and it really does detract from the point of reading. We all like to see what everyone else is driving, don't get me wrong, but maybe it doesn't ALL need to be at the bottom of each and every post.

I know, you'll critique that I put mine there as well, and of course I'm biased here, but I think what I have is decent, without going overboard. Just a couple, lines, normal sized font.

Also, don't know if you can or not, but maybe limit the sizes of quotes. I like the quotes, to see what people are referring to, especially when it's an old post more than a few back, but sometimes the quotes are longer than the comments, (like 75 line quotes) and it's a lot of wasted space.

Like Walt said, anything to make the pertinent information more readable, and the extraneous stuff a little less imposing. Is there a way to limit the sizes of posted pictures? Or perhaps put thumbnails in the posts that we'd need to click on to see the full size?

Or maybe, when you hit "quote", it could just insert a bookmark or a target to the post being referred to...

I'll look into the quote thing, as I do agree with you.

As far as image sizes, if you upload a file using our attachment system it post it as a thumbnail automatically. If someone links to a picture off of another site, we cant control the size too much, but i think after a certain size it does show up as a thumbnail. I'll look into it more since I dont know the numbers right off the top of my head.

I don't like the My 05 section, I think it would be better served in the main forum.

I have seen several ppl mention that they want posts to go into General and the sub-forum they originally posted in.

I am a member over at ar15.com and they have a Active Topics feature that
allows ALL posts to show up in Active Topics as soon as it is posted. If ppl respond it goes back to the top of Active Topics.

Unless I am searching for something I usually just browse the Active Topics.

Good idea!

Although it should be limited to paying members. Whoever is interested in showing off their ride on every post should contribute and help TMS with their bills.

From day one we've been against images in sigs, because it makes forums yet even harder to read.

Intros and car photos- duplicates the my 05 section, which no one bothers to visit very often. WAY too structured in there.

I was expecting another four letter word, one which would to imply for me to go and reproduce myself.

Can you imagine the original and a clone... together in this place?

I agree. That's what galleries are. Now if we just had galleries.

Im trying to find a solution for that. Problem is VB seems to change quicker than what people design galleries to work with them. If only VB would just write one it'd be a simple fix, but currently all galleries are freelanced by various people.

That active topics thing sounds like a GREAT idea. I for one have a hard time keeping track in the Performance, General, Interior Mod, Exterior mod, etc. sections of where new topics are. Have it be topics that are active in the last 1-3 days?

What about a subforum marketplace JUST for 05+ parts? I for one only look for 05+ parts and it bugs when I get excited and click on a thread only to find out it's for a '99-'04

I know what your saying and while I personally dont want to ADD anymore forums, I'll take a look. The simple solution for the problem is if everyone would put in the title what gen its for (I.e. "For Sale Steeda STB For 05+")

Here's a strange one that just might help out no matter how many subforums we have. Give the person who starts a thread the ability to close their own thread.

Say, for instance, one the TMS sponsors has a special on widgets this month. He could post a thread in the main forum and imediately close it so people would know about his other thread, but not start a discussion in the main forum.

Just an idea.

I know it sounds weird but it just might work.
