Angry Need help with a popping sound coming from P.S. front

About a month ago I had a popping sound that would drive me nuts anytime I went over a bump or rough pavement. It got so bad it was almost like the car was falling apart. My neighbor a mechanic found that the nut on the top of the front D-Spec shocks were loose. He tightened it up and it was good for about a month.

Well the noise is back but this time only from the passenger side and carrying through the car to the rear. I made sure everything was tight but it doesn’t matter this time. I have the D-Specs, Steeda Ultralite Springs, and Steeda Heavy Duty Upper Mounts. At this point I’m at a loss as to why I’m getting the popping. Any help would be appreciated!

My car has had nearly every problem in the books: Clunking, popping, moaning, rattling, chattering, squealing, knocking, vibrating, etc. I have taken care of each problem and can say my car is, as of today, 100%! (knock on wood)

When my car was exhibiting a popping noise (which is a very distinct noise), it was coming from a defective oem strut cap on the driver's side. Replacing the strut cap (did this just today, along with switching out my eibach prokit with steeda sport springs) has cured the problem, for now (knock on wood again).

This is hard for me to suggest because the Steeda caps are super sweet, but maybe your passenger side strut cap has gone bad? My only problem with suggesting that is that you said the noise carries through the car, whereas the popping noise I had was very localized around the strut cap, so with that, maybe one of your d specs has kicked the bucket, which is good because if I remember correctly, they have a lifetime warranty and you can probably get it replaced free.

Either way, good luck with it and I feel your pain!

TSB 05-09-11 was for "intermittent popping noises" from the front suspension on '05s. They didn't have the spring seat isolator like '06-'07. But you have aftermarket stuff, so maybe that doesn't apply.

The bolt for the swaybar endlink came loose on my car causing a popping sound once. Try tightening it up.

I'll check that out this week.

Thanks everyone else as well for your responses. I'm always up for more ideas as this one has me guessing.

Yesterday I had my mechanic get under the car and take a look at everything. He relubed all the bushings (front/rear) and it made sure the sway bar endlinks were tight. So far knock on the wood the car has been good. However, I fear it's just a matter of time before it acts up again.
