another club member wrote me "Plant City has a Classic Car show on the 3rd Saturday every month from 4-9PM. I have been to several and they have had close to or more than 1000 cars, vendors and plenty of food and entertainment. "

thats this weekend... i can check my schedule if others are interested - otherwise, lets just pick a location and date - maybe even post it here for anyone else who is interested

I've been to the plant city bike nite. Never went to the car show tho. I will have to bow out this weekend more than likely since I will be underneath a Nissan in Lakeland. Clutches are sooooooo much fun. But if I get a chance to take a shower and go for a ride I might try to roll into Plant City.

That sounds like lousy mileage for sure. It's a shame you don't have the info center, it would be interesting to hear what your average travel speed per fill is. Mine is a manual tranny with 3.55 gears, all stock except for mufflers. I've been tracking my mileage for the 8+/- months I've had my car as I enter all the info into my expense spreadsheet every fill. I do not use the info center to track the mileage, I enter the actual gas pumped back in and the mileage from the tripmeter. The spreadsheet formula does the calc. The lowest mileage I've gotten is 21.5 and the highest was 27.0 (on a long trip, with 25.0 on the return trip). But mostly I get between 22.5 and 23.3. My average MPH according to the info center is usually 41 to 45 (the higher the average speed, the better the mileage I get).

Good luck figuring yours out, unless you're doing all stop-and-go driving it sounds like something is wrong with yours. Have you had your odometer checked? Maybe you're actually driving farther then it's indicating?

That classic car show sounds like a good time. Can you post up a little more information as far as location if you have it? That could be a really good opportunity for a Tampa Bay area meet.

Titanjc, if its anything like their bike nites its pretty much the entire downtown area by the park. They shut down the roads in the area and bring in some of the food vendors with their trailers. But, like I said, I haven't made it to one of their car nites. Yet with close to 1000 cars I'm sure they have to pretty much do the same.

From: That town you drive through to get to Myrtle Beach
I dont see how the mileage can be this bad. My dad drives a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer. Its a big SUV, and we average about 20, and we've gotten close to 30.

Just butting in here. This may have already been suggested. Take your car and trade it in a for new mstang 07 or 08 with no miles. Ford is not going to give you a new car for a car that was a demo (used car). Take you car to CARMAX or another deler that will give you close to book. You will loose some cash but you will gain the car you want and save money from the poor gas milelage..Since your uncle works for Ford you shoud qualify for x or z plan which wil save you about 3000.00 over invoice. You sund like a very principled person and i know you want Ford to do something. Maybe they will or won't but you can definately do something ...Now.

Thanks for the suggestions.... I don't really want to trade it in... I love the Car, and It is almost impossible to find this car or build it.
ford now only gives you the employee plan if you are directly related(Siblings,Parents, Children) i.e Nephew doesnt count. I also bought this one for 32k when sticker was 40k. I just wanted Ford to fix it (whatever "it" may be) but they say they can not fix an issue unless something is showing signs of what may cause it.

Tampa,
I have an 07 Prem. GT, 5 spd., 3.55., all stock except for the GTA exhaust, with 2800 miles on it. I drive 6 miles one way to my office.
Lots of stop and go due to lights, stop signs. I drive pretty normal, with only the occasional lead foot. The speed limits along the way vary from 30-45 mph. Takes me about 20 min. to get to the office with traffic. The Info. center says I avg. 20-24 mph. and 13.5 mpg. I have also checked the mileage manually, and the computer has been spot on.
I have taken one highway trip to Austin and avgd. 24 mpg. I have never considered something to be wrong with the car other than the the gas mileage sucks if you do strictly city driving.
Good luck with whatever shakes out!

Actually, X-plan can be freely given to anyone, but each employee gets a limited number of pins. A-plan covers immediate family.

I only average about 200 miles a tank out of my 07 5sp, but I drive it hard and it's all short stop and go driving. I only live about 3 miles from work

Dude,

How can you expect Ford to fix something that is not showing any symptoms of being broken. If the car runs corrctly, all emmissions are within limits and basic system checks like compression and PCM codes check out, there is nothing to fix except driver education.
