Name that Special Edition
If you want to stay with a horse theme how about Steed...
steed
\Steed\, n. [OE. stede, AS. st[=e]da a stud-horse, war horse, fr. st[=o]d a stud of breeding steeds; akin to G. stute a mare, Icel. stedda, st[=o]?, a stud. [root]163. See Stud of horses.] A horse, especially a spirited horse for state of war; -- used chiefly in poetry or stately prose. ``A knight upon a steed.'' --Chaucer.
Mounted upon a hot and fiery steed. --Shak
...seems extremely fitting, especially the last (all from dictionary.com). There have been Bosses, and Judges, now for Steeds!!
But seriously, a Shelby GT 700 like the Super Snake Unique recently built would be absolutely killer but probably completely unaffordable to the average Joe given the current hot market for Shelby and Shelby authorized cars...oh well.

Mustang, Thunderbird, Falcon, Maverick, Galaxy, Thunderbolt, Bronco, Meteor, Comet, Cougar, Bobcat, Pacer, Citation, Corsair...
When the production Mustang was first designed, its designer wanted it called 'Cougar'. It originally had a chrome cougar in the little corral in the grille! They actually had many names for it, including Puma and T-5.... Incidentally, the designer of the production model fought for 'Cougar' till the very end.
The idea of a smaller very affordable four seat sports car was the vision of Lee Iacocca. The idea of resurrecting the old Budd Company two-seater T-bird bodies modified to fit the Falcon platform with a rear seat was entertained and called XT-Bird. The idea was rejected in favor of doing an all new car.
The name Mustang was originally inspired by executive Ford stylist John Najjar who had a passion for the WWII fighter plane. He worked on design of the Mustang I two-seat experimental prototype. The use of the name Mustang was further justified by the dictionary definition of "a hardy, wild horse of the American plains".
The wining production design was originally called Cougar created by Dave Ash in a studio headed by Joe Oros. The Allegro and Stiletto prototypes were also in the running.
During prototype sateges the names flip-flopped around using the names "Special Falcon", Cougar, T-5, Torino and Mustang. "Mustang T-5" and "Cougar Torino" was also used together on some prototypes.
The caged grille ornament designs included the Ford Crown crest, a Cougar facing right then later left, a nice Falcon bird and eventually a Mustang.
Some of the prototypes were referred to as Special Falcons and Torino while still wearing the Cougar grille emlem.
Other potential names for the production car included Bronco, Puma, Cheeta, and Colt. Henry Ford II wanted to call it a T-bird II but that was shot down by Ford executives. Torino was suggested to capitalize on Italian fashions and coachwork that was a popular influence in culture. It was also rumored to flatter Iacocca's Italian heritage. Torino was rejected for sounding too European. The name Mustang always came out top on surveys and was chosen because it conjured images of exciting wide open spaces and becaue it was very American sounding.
As a result of the Mustang program, the Mercury Cougar and Ford Torino soon emerged as nameplates on related platforms.
