I emailed my dealer today asking if things are looking up, allocation wise. He replied and told me our region (I'm in upstate NY) was only given allocations for 13 Mustangs this month. For the whole region!! 6 verts, 6 V6, and one lonely GT. I know this has been discussed here before....but he said the warmer climate dealers are getting most of the allocations right now. Based on the numbers he gave me, I'd have to agree.

It must be different in Canada. When I ordered, I asked my dealer about allocation, and he said they get X number allocations and they can use them to order what ever kind of mustang they like. The order will only get pulled though, if there is an open allocation and available commodities for that order, that week.

Is my dealer full of it? Does anyone here know for sure? Either way, my order was pulled a week ago, so its no issue to me anyway.

That doesn't sound too accurate.
If were true and it was for the whole month, that would mean I'm getting the one lonely GT.
HIGHLY unlikely.
Hopefully Karpro will chime in.

Read Karpro's responses in this thread. I think they will answer most of your questions.

Kapro says "You get a total Mustang allocation and are free to order them however you see fit. The available commodities determine what gets built and what doesn't."

This jives with what my dealer told me. Outdoorstom, I don't know for sure, but your dealer might be full of it.

This was for the region of upstate NY......

I agree though...it does seem like my dealer may be full of it. Actually, he told me he was given those figures today by the regional rep when he emailed her asking what's going on with the allocations. I guess it's possible he's being fed a line and doesn't know any better......

Also, he said this was for the month...hopefully he was mistaken about that too, and it's for the week.

If the one GT for all of up-state is true, it must be coming t o Plattsburgh, because the dealer here is expecting a yellow GT any day now.

Karpro is in upstate NY.
Also, my order was pulled this month and is supposed to be built this month and I ordered from him.

Karpro is in Walworth, NY over by Rochester near Lake Ontario off Interstate 90. What Tom and I mean by up-state is 5 hours from Karpro. If you look at a map of NY you will see that the northeastern corner of the state is much higher than the central part of the state where Walworth is. Outdoorstom lives just across the bridge from Cornwall, Ontario, Canada and I live just 62 miles south of Montreal,so we know up-state NY

I'm actually considered the Pittsburgh region while you guys are in the New York region. I would guess those numbers are for the zone and not the region. In January, if I remember the numbers correctly, my region (about 300 dealers) got about 350 mustangs, my zone (13 dealers) got less than 20. The 13 would probably be for your zone. The allocations come as a total number but the commodities do dictate what gets pulled.

Thanks for the info Paul. I don't know how many dealers are in my region, but it would be insane if there were only 12 allocations to divide up between them! He must have had his facts wrong and it must have been for the zone.

Do all the dealers in a zone get a pick every week? I got the impression that my dealer got so many per month.
