Took the car in to the dealer today for five items:

1. “Oozing” brake master cylinder cap. Brakes function well aside from intermittent right rear squeal.
>They had to order a master cylinder cap which should be in tomorrow.

2. Trunk sticks /does not unlatch when remote is used.
>The trunk worked perfectly for them, even though the service writer said someone else was in with the same problem. They supposedly checked for any TSBs on this and found none.

3. Interior trunk liner falling off - plastic bolts fell out [may be connected to #3 above].
>Liner fixed [I think]. Thos plastic sex bolts looked a little stripped. Oh well.

4. Paint appears to be “bubbling” at two small spots on center of roof just above windshield.
>Roof will have to be painted next week as there are chunks of "pearl" or "metal flake" or even bug guts under the top coat.

5. Click when braking: May be driveshaft play? Car has already had strut bearings replaced at Ford dealer.
>Click? We don't hear no stinking click!

This with 14,900 miles on it, which is really not bad.

Crap, I was afraid others would have it... <chuckle> I hope it's only the cap [though I have a bad feeling about it], as I'd rather it NOT be the MC itself. Once they take that thing off I can already see the hassles getting the system all bled properly again... <sigh>

This has been discussed a few times, I think almost everyone has this problem (if you look close at peoples photos of engine bays). My friend has a 2001 Escape, the MC leaked as well. The dealer replaced the MC 3 times, then finally ford released a revised cap. It has not leaked since.

Today when I was at the dealer the Service guy looked through a Ford system (some Intranet site) and found nothing about a revised cap.

There is a TSB for the brakes squealing. I also have the leaky MC cap.
