A little late in reporting, but I also had the opportunity to drive the 05 Stang on Belle Isle at the Ford Racing Innovation Drive. I drove the screaming yellow GT with the 5-speed manual. Unfortunately, I was about the 10th person in line to drive and didn't realize that burnouts and chirping of the tires from first to second gear would be tolerated. Anyway my impression of the car. IT IS UTTERLY FANTASTIC. Throttle response was crisp. The steering was very responsive and had a great feel. The clutch was light, but not too light. Finally, the shifter felt very precise and was very easy to shift and find each gear. In summary, what I want to convey to everyone is that it has the feel and refinement of say a BMW or high line Japanese vehicle. Just as importantly, however, it is a true muscle car when it comes to acceleration and oh that exhaust note under hard acceleration is really special. I think this car will get rave reviews in the car mags and will eventually sell to a wide spectrum of performance enthausists. If you own one of these cars, you will become addicted to running through the gears to experience not only the acceleration and exhaust note of the car, but also its refinement and precision.

Enough with the jokes! More about the car!
That is just so awesome to hear!!!
What kind of driving did you do - straight or bendies? Please tell me you also felt comfortable in the car while driving it. Some cockpits just don't make the driver feel like he/she has enough room for elbows, knees, etc.
Thanks for the description of your experience!

That's what I used to say about a girlfriend I had in college, when describing her to a friend:
My girl is light, but not too light.
