I placed my order on 10/9 ($500 deposit). I called last week to ask for my DORA and they hadn't yet ordered it. I told them to order it already. Two days later I get a call saying they can't order it untill early december now because of a hold on the IUP.

When I ordered we agreed upon a late december delivery. I doubt they are going to make the date any more. What should I do?

Shop around... See if there is a similar car to what you ordered that is not spoken for...

 

Go somwhere else, see if they want to do it for the same price and then kick these guys in the ding ding

 

Can't see why that should stop the factory from accepting the order. Just not giveing it a build date. I will find that out early this week. Maybe Monday as we reordered this past Thursday. Because the first one price gouged. $%&# him, we want Satin-Silver now anyway. If I wait into late spring or summer, I will then wait for early 06, Titanium Silver.

 

Sounds like he does not have anymore allocations. Ask him. My first order was on 7/28. I repeatedly asked for a DORA. Finally in Oct, the GM called and said they did not have allocations to put my order in back in July. They would get new allocations until Nov.

He explained that they can submit the order to Ford, but until they get new allocations, Ford will not pick the order up (hence no DORA).

Sounds like since you want a late Dec delivery, he is putting you off to his second set of allocations, reserving his first set for customers that want something sooner.

I called around and found a second dealer that had some on order and I got exactly what I wanted (and he had a VIN # already).
