My 05 Pony at school
I've seen high school kids driving around in much nicer cars than a Mustang. BMW's and Mercedes and all kinds of stuff- I don't even think there's much of a price difference in a Honda Accord and the V6 Mustang is there?
Granted I think everyone should learn on a used car, but I see no problem with owning a new one after that- if its a gift from his parents, great. I hope I'll be able to give a gift like that one day
Nice car, I like it in black

My first car was a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquee in what has to be the ugliest blue I have ever seen I just call it grandma blue. I too wanted a Mustang ever since I could drive, but my parents would not let me get one. They said I was too young for a car like that even if I was paying for it, At the time (17) I was pissed. Though I ride through my old high school to drop my younger brother off and someone there has a 2005 redfire and it is FILTHY! Though that has nothing to do with age. I think it all depends on the values you have. If you know the value of things and appreciate them you always take care of them reguardless of if they were given to you or you got it your self. Though I can tell you now you will feel a great sense of pride when you know what you have was paid for by you. Nice car, enjoy it in good health!

now i completely agree with what youre saying...ive wanted a mustang since i could drive and finally got one earlier this summer after my first year of college. ive been working since i was 15 and saved as much as i could for my car. i worked 40 hrs a week every week this summer to help pay for it. My parents gave me 1,000 toward the down payment but I make all the payments on the car myself. I also pay over half of the insurance (no small task for a 20 yr old in a Mustang GT) and all of gas.

In general, when you pay for something you have more care and respect for it. If he's taking pictures of his car, I'm sure he has great care for his car. Not everyone I know takes pictures of their cars. Actually I think I'm the only one
Hopefully someday I could buy my kid a brand new car. My parents would have bought me a new car if they could but they couldn't so I bought it myself. Lighten up on the kid, (even though some animosity is coming from past posts) and don't assume things about him.
wow, thats tough to believe. not calling you a liar...but i just cant believe that you would pay the same for insurance for a mustang gt and a honda accord. im 20 with a perfect record, tons of discounts (good student, low risk, all that) and i still pay like $3,300 a year.
Well we are lucky enough to be close friends with our insurance provider, so i get a good deal, after driving with me a few times she said she is confident in me and that she doesn't think i will abuse it, which i don't
Good lord, every time a teenager comes on and says he has a Mustang, someone starts up with this crap. Seriously, what does it matter? Raise you kids how you see fit and let his parents raise him as they see fit. I mean absolutely no offense by what I'm saying either. No one wants opinions shoved down their throat about who is worthy to drive or own a particular car. Did I have a new car at 17? NO Do I begrudge this kid because he does? NOOOOOO. God help us all if he had a GT, there would be calls for a congressional hearing on the matter. Take your preaching to church and let the kid be proud of his car

I thought it was 25...that is when I got mine. Of course the rules could have changed since then....
My car in HS was a 79 Camaro, fastest car I ever owned except maybe my 99 GT...maybe.
I paid for the car, insurance and gas...that has no relevance on how I treated the car. Some people are meticulous on how they keep their rooms, closet, car whatever. Regardless on how you got the car, I'm glad you are enjoying it and taking care of it the way you want.
...I also like the color.
