I think that V6 being "girls" car stereotype might apply to previous years of Mustang (well, last 5-7 years anyway). I like the previous "Fox" Mustang looks and history behind it, but it is way too outdated mechanically, which might be fine for young woman, but not a young man. It's a bit of a stereotype, but I think it is true. This year is different. 2005 is well designed, well priced, ahead of the curve (for now). The only reason I didn't get GT was price, insurance and gas. It added up to an amount I don't want to spend. V6 was simply perfect for me as well as many other male buyers this time. I think when Ford looks at the data from this year they will see a large difference in male/female V6/GT. I think it'll be a lot more even this time around with more women getting GT and more young male buyers purchasing V6.

Don't forget though, girls also go crazy for guys that drive stangs.
Exactly! I'm hoping that it's a guys car that can help get the girls. LOL

On the other hand, I did see a hot blond woman driving a redfire v6 coupe yesterday.

I agree....my 2003 Mach 1 / 5-speed is fun to drive & so are the newer models
I worked for Ford for years & am from Detroit.....I also have a 2007 Honda accord V-6 which I love....but theres something about a V-8 mustang that you cant deny.....looks , power & fun

I agree with the first part. Most women (not all) do not care about the V8, which is why the vast majority dont own a V8.

Should this girl buy a Mustang?

I bought my daughter a 2005 Mustang last year with only 42, 000 original miles on it. It's in excellent condition and she has not had any problems with it. I love it and have wanted one ever since we purchased hers. Now I have an opportunity to purchase a 2008 convertible, one owner but it has 94,000 miles and the seller wants $6,200. I don't know much about cars other than this is a very pretty car and the V-6 has enough power for me. Should I buy?

Is it pink? LOL . . .

The best way I know to get an objective idea of value is to run it through as many of the on-line value tools as you can find -- edmunds, consumer reports, blue book, truecar . . . and shoot for the low end of the range on all of those as a "good deal."

Generally these cars are pretty reliable if well maintained, 94K is substantial miles but not out of line for a 2008 that has been driven regularly. My 2010 has 95K on it and going strong.
