I bought a Ctek 3300 off ebay and it arrived today. I plugged it in and the indicator shows the battery as half charged. It's been on for about an hour. That little charger gets pretty hot.

Okay I understand where your going with this, but my question is. If you turn off the radio before turning off the key, is the head unit still powered up, and drawing current ?

Hmmm... I am wondering if my battery is on the way out. I got my Pony in August of 2005.

I ran my Shaker 1000 for about 20 minutes (you can actually see the display dim with the drum beats) and the starter cranked over so SLOOOOOOOOOOOOWWW I didn't think the car would start. It finally did start and I haven't done that since...

Is that normal when thumping the Shaker 1000 to drain the battery that fast? Or is it about ready to crap out?

I don't think that you will ever chase down all of the battery drains on these cars.

1. Shaker head units
2. Anti theft
3. Window sensors
4. Ford P.O.S. oem batteries

I got this to help out the situation and I think it's a good investment.

Rich,

Hope you don't mind, but I'm going to add one more to your list.

1. Shaker head units/amplifiers.

2. Active anti-theft motion/incline sensors.

3. Motorcraft P.O.S OEM batteries.

4. Window sensor relays.

5. P.O.S smart junction box.

Got a call from the "Stealership" today. Said the car was ready. They "spent a lot of hours" but finely found the ground to my push button start frayed..... BS. Not allowing a good ground for S.J.B.. If the ground was bad,,as much amps as the starter pulls the start button would not have worked to start the car. Just a way to try and charge me for something they been working on but can't fix ......

I noticed now that the window doesn't go all the way up and seal on the driver's side since my last battery drainage.

You just have to reprogram the door module. Find the instructions in the owner's manual.

Rich,

Perhaps this TSB may help.

POWER WINDOW DIAGNOSIS TSB 06-22-18

FORD:

2005-2007 Mustang

ISSUE

Some 2005-2007 Mustang vehicles may exhibit
issues with the functional power window features
including one touch up, short drop, and bounce
back.

ACTION

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the
condition if the root cause is incorrect or no window
initialization of the Smart Window Motor.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Perform a de-initialization procedure of the smart
motor / side window glass, followed by
re-initialization procedure.

NOTE

WINDOW RE-INITIALIZATION MUST BE
PERFORMED WITH THE DOORS CLOSED.

NOTE

ON CONVERTIBLES, WINDOWS COULD BOUNCE
BACK IF THE SIDE GLASS IS OUT OF
ADJUSTMENT. REFER TO THE WORKSHOP
MANUAL (WSM), SECTION 501-11.

NOTE

CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT THE DOOR SEAL
OR MIRROR SEAL IS NOT ROLLED OVER OR
BINDING. ALSO, THAT THERE IS NO
OBSTRUCTION IN GLASS SEALING AREA AND
THE GLASS FIT AND/OR REGULATOR
MECHANICAL FASTENING IS NOT LOOSE.

DE-INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE

1.
De-initialization (un-learning) of the smart
window motor clears the memory of the module
and shuts off the One-Touch UP, Bounce Back
and Short Drop functions.
2.
The smart window motors can be de-initialized
in two (2) different ways:
a.
Disconnect the battery cable from the
battery WHILE THE WINDOW IS MOVING.
b.
Remove the window motor fuse from the
Power Distribution Box WHILE THE
WINDOW IS MOVING.
3.
After performing one of the above procedures,
the smart motor must be re-initialized, see
Initialization Procedure.
INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE

1.
INITIALIZATION MUST BE PERFORMED WITH
THE DOOR CLOSED! (For convertibles, top
and the quarter glass must be in the up /
closed position.)
2.
From the window switch, perform the following
steps without stopping:
a.
Operate the window UP and stall for 2
seconds. (Hold The Switch)
b.
Operate the window DOWN and stall for 2
seconds. (Hold The Switch)
c.
The smart window motor will be initialized
and one-touch-UP and Short Drop will be
operational.
d.
Cycle the window glass an additional five
(5) times to set the window “Soft Stop” for
the down position.
TIP - VOLTAGE RANGE OF OPERATION: 9-16
VOLTS (AT THE MOTOR)

The smart motor will ONLY function in the 9-16
volt range; if the voltage at the smart motor drops
below 9 volts, the window may not function
properly or prematurely stop moving

If the voltage drops below 9 volts while the motor
is moving, the motor will become de-initialized
(one-touch UP and Short Drop will be inoperable)

If the motor becomes de-initialized due to low
voltage, see initialization procedure. for
instructions
