Coming soon to a dealer near you: the Mazdaspeed Mustang.
Not as exciting as the Ford SVT Miata, with a 5.0 Cammer motor moving something like 2200 pounds of car. Hmmmm, that might be interesting, if you could find shocks sturdy enough to hold up that much motor.

But what's up with the white gloves? I really don't care if people's hands touch my car.

I hope the new Mustangs don't have the same Mazda 6s clutch issue. I had one of those and it needed a clutch in 6,000 miles. The replacement clutch started chattering at about 14,000 miles.

I dumped the car.

Considering that the Mazda 6 is Front Wheel Drive and shares absolutly NO Mechanical Components with the 05 I don't see how this could even be concievable. I wouldn't worry.

I would tend to agree, however, you know how global companies work these days. If they can save 2 cents buy purchasing clutch assemblies from a single supplier, they will do it. Just thought it possible that the same guys that screwed up the 6s clutch may be at work on these.

LORD LET'S HOPE NOT.
I spend a lot of time on Mazda 6 forums on web and I've never seen anyone complain about the clutch. I believe it's one of two things:

1. an isolated issue with your particular car

or

2. your driving style

I don't believe it's a design, or build quality issue with the 6. [/b][/quote]
Strange, the Mazda 6 board I used to frequent had dozens of complaints about clutch chatter. Matter of fact, several people mentioned that the only option would be to purchase an aftermarket clutch to get away from the stock clutches issues.

Then I stand corrected. But I honestly don't recall ever hearing about this being an issue until now. Of course, since I first started getting interested in the '05 Mustang, I really haven't been spending that much time on the Mazda boards anymore.

Believe me, I'm not trying to be an ahole about it. I actually LIKED the 6s alot. It is a nice car, but the early ones just don't seem to work real well. I wasn't going to keep a car that seems to need a clutch every 6,000 or so miles. I've driven stick since I was 16 and rode bikes with clutches before that. It's NOT the drivers in most cases. I'm disappointed with Mazda (Ford) because they haven't come clean and brought out a real TSB to replace these clutches and find the root problem so that '03 owners can have piece of mind. My car is gone..at a huge loss financially.

Oh, and by the way, my dealer service department couldn't have s ucked better. They were an embaressment.

It's cool. Like I said I don't remember hearing about until now. Was your 6 an '03 or '04? I couldn't tell you if my service dept. is good or bad because I haven't had to take my 6 back for anything. I just hope it stays that way!

I'm actually know around here for being notorious about buying brand new vehicles. I had one of the first Ford Escapes in the area. I had the second '03 Mazda 6s delivered by this dealer. I have the first '05 GT delivered by the dealer I got it from. I'm a stinker for new hardware. It's a curse!

a LOT of performance cars have clutch chatter, it has no adverse affect to the car. From miatas to M3's you can sometimes hear it. Most aftermarket clutches do it even more. Usually the more holding power it has, the more chatter.
