Tell him to shove it, and go somewhere else. There's no reason to pay over MSRP for a mass-produced car.

I wouldn't. But that is just me. The only reason I am really waiting is to save the cash by not paying MSRP or any markup.

I figure I might save around 15 bucks a day by waiting the 130 days I think it will take to arrive.

Ask more dealers. If I offered you $5000 to make a four-hour round-trip, you'd be in your car before I finished my sentence. Surely a 2-hour drive to another Ford dealer is worth saving $5000. Tell your current salesman that if he doesn't want your business, some one else does.

As stated, No. If you're completely out of ideas and can't get the stang for MSRP or below, there's other options.

Oh man trojan, we need to talk. I'm in your exact situation, and started a thread about it (see: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index....T&f=7&t=16179). It seems you go or went to USC...me too.

I paid MSRP for mine literally off the showroom floor on January 3rd . I was thrilled, but wouldn't have paid a penny more.

You guys in Cali are getting screwed. Can you say "Road Trip"?

Hey Everyone,

My car auction is almost up on eBay, so I have been visiting Ford dealers today. Almost all of the dealer markups on the GT are between $3000-$5000. My Mustang club president, who is selling my car and is also a car salesman at a Ford dealership told me he can get the dealer markup down to $1500. So, i'd pay MSRP +$1500. He said I could not use the X-Plan discount if he lowered the markup for me.

So, should I jump at this offer? Has anyone gotten a GT off the lot at MSRP, or with the X-plan? I would order a car, but once my current car goes I need to buy another one.

Thanks in advance!
Mike
It seems most everyone is getting X-plan price by ordering, that was the only way my dealer would do it, but I took his last GT off the lot for 1000 over invoice.

There are plenty of dealers in the L.A. Area that are offering at the very most MSRP. I can't recall how many calls I got letting me know they were at MSRP, but too bad for them I had already ordered w/X-plan. Call around and see who can give you a better deal.
