A lot of thumbs up; mostly from middle aged fans.

"You wanna race dude, from the younger crowd."

Several screeching starts from middle aged Mercedes owners. That was a surprise. I was just sitting at the light, bobbing and weaving my head to avoid the cd's being spit out by my shaker 500; and this guy is in a unilateral drag race. Next light, same thing. Happened more than once - -both times AMG's.

A fair amount of head turns from people on the street.

In a sense, you would think that everyone would turn their head; but then remember that a vast majority of drivers could care less about cars, nor muscle cars. I noticed mustangs only after I really got into the changes made in '99. (not counting the early years, yeah I'm that old)

I will like seeing more of them around - - and avoid the attention. I have only seen one other Mustang on the road.... a fellow TMS member.

The fame will wear off in a year or so, but don't worry. It will be back in 2025. My Tangerine Mustang II Mach 1 gets lots of looks too.

I get alot of people saying "I haven't seen one of those on the road for years", and "WOW that Mustang II is in good shape".

It might not have a shaker, but I prefer the quadrasonic 8-track.

Last weekend I was filling up and a lady stop and asked if she could look at the car, I told her to go ahead . Then she asked if she could take some pictures and I let her. People must have thought this lady was crazy. I enjoy the looks and comments from total strangers.

After putting my stripes on I am getting a lot of people honking and giving the "thumbs up". Now with my new exhaust they hear me before they even see me

I find that I turn off the CD to listen to the radio, then turn off the radio to listen to the exhaust............it was obviously the exhaust that I really wanted to listen to in the first place.

I seem to get the most attention when I am wiping the car down at a car wash after I washed it. One day last week I was wiping it down and had 12 people within about 45 minutes stop to look at it.

The other day I had the misfortune of picking up a screw in my left rear tire. The head was the only visible part on the thickest part of the tread, but I had no idea how long the screw was. Instead of taking a risk and pulling it out myself, I drove to the nearby tire & auto service center. The guys over there were spellbound when my car came in. They all flocked to it, never having seen one in person before. One mechanic whipped out his camera flip phone and began taking pictures. Very cool. The car received lots of compliments.

As far as the screw, it was only 1/2" long and did not puncture the tire. They checked for a leak, and there's none. I was lucky. The mechanic put the wheel back on and checked the pressure in the rest of the tires and said "no charge." He got a nice tip.
