Has anyone seen the year over year sales numbers for last month? No cars are doing well, but Mustangs are down 50%!! That is huge!!!

I am giving my GT back in December,I am walking away from my house of 5 years as well. I was out of work in 2007 for 8 months and then in 2008 for 3 months. I have blown thru bank savings at 2 banks and no end in sight. I am going to try and get back on my feet, but without the $600 a month going out for car and insurance. I have to say this, 2010 pony is looking better already! God Bless and Best of Luck in 2009!

My wife lost her job in May and I thought the world was coming to an end. I starting selling parts off my car and even put my car up for sale. I decided to keep it and she is back in school training for another career. Things will turn out OK for you if you keep the faith. Good luck on whatever you do ~

Yeah, we have had a lot of people come here from Michigan.
The company I work for here is still hiring people.

I am sorry to hear about the bad news!!! I hope you find employment soon!

About the Mustang - you will be lucky to even get what you owe on the car. I checked the value of our '07 premium GT with comfort package, IUP, GT appearance, etc, and it's $19,500. Only has 2,000 miles on the ticker. Yours is a year newer and probably has more options, like the HID. But keep in mind that if Edmund's etc says $19,500, the dealer will probably offer $17,500 - $18,500. So you'll have to decide if losing your downpayment, having to pay out cash to dump the car, just to buy another Mustang later is worth being free of the payment right now.

Good luck!!!

Sounds like so many of us have become victims of this lousy economy. At least they have extended unemployment pay.

I feel sorry for fellow forum members losing their cars because of the bad economy. In Michigan, the pain is probably felt most, because the economy is relied heavy on the auto industry. I live in california, but I haven't seen a lot of people get laid off here. Maybe it's just the people that I know, but maybe it is different else where. Good luck to everyone that is fighting each day to survive through these hard times.

I'm truly sorry to hear about this. It is extremely unfortunate that this stuff seems to happen to the wrong people. I'm starting to worry about what I am going to do in a year when I graduate with an accounting degree. Here i thought I was lucky to buy gas at less than two dollars a gallon. Everything will work out for you man. Good things happen to good people in the end. Keep your head up!

Thanks for the support everyone! Due to the "not wanting to take unreasonable low ball offers" I might just keep it like some of you said. I think I might of found a way to work it out. BTW, is this economy going to turn around? I hope so, I never seen anything like this. Good luck to the big 3!
