The Ford Red matched better than I thought with the BMR brace. Once you disconnect about a zillion connectors, they come in and out not that bad. I still put a dab of silicone sealant in the two areas that had them to start with.

I may have used clear engine coat over the red if I had thought about it. And the famous IF I HAD to do it over again, with all the hassel, I would send them to you all for powercoating.

My engine bay screamed for some attention, now I am not ashamed to open the hood. Still need some chrome do dads later on.

Thanks for all the help.

Stoenr,

Looks good, it all matches really well. I cannot believed that ford would leave the engine bay so ugly.....or is it an opportunity for future mods?

I think to sell us future mods. There's only a couple of options for aftermarket cam covers, and Ford Racing is one of them.

Ford knew people were going to go mod crazy on these cars I think.
One giveaway is the axle back mufflers.

I agree, but I am still looking for a better looking cam covers than just painting or poweder coating the cam covers.

I am hoping for BBK to do something, Steeda told me end of May, but still nothing..

Any I will thank ford for making this car very Mod friendly.

Here's a pic of my engine bay: Midwest plenum cover in silver, stock cam covers powdercoated in Reflective Chrome (by Hatchman/Kevin Morris) and JLT II in silver to match. Since the pic was taken (11/2005) I've added the single chrome strut tower brace.

Easy...Took me about 1 hour to swap them both out and I was working slow. Check out the schematics attached on removing and installing.
