Up here in Vancouver, Wa. they have a small force of tuner cars that look like street racers. They usually run them late at night and get people to race them then nail them with something a long the lines of wreckless endangerment.
They have a Subaru WRX, Mazda 6, Honda Accord Coupe, Camaro, and a few others.

I'm not sure exactly how they work it... It's possible they do not issue a citation at the time and just give the hand-slap to avoid entrapment charges.
Of course I don't see how it could be entrapment if the unmarked call just revved his engine at a stop light and the idiot next to him takes off. I'd actually have to read the entrapment guidelines.

Here they have...

Crown Victoria

The SUV/trucks are for offroad and chases invloving larger vehicles.
In Florida they have Camaro SS's, Z28's, SVT Cobras, etc. for highway patrol.

I've actually seen some our crime scene officers pull people over in the mini vans they drive(they have light bars on them). Same goes for our Incident Commanders(Lieutenants) in the Chevy SUV's. Sorry DarthBob, it's true. Some our Sergeants write tickets too.

Are you sure it was a V6 or could it have been a V8 dropped into a V6 "body" to reduce the cost to law enforcement agencies (like the old LX)?

In Texas, they do have the whole 9 yards of the Ford Fleet
Explorers, Crown Vics, Econoline Patty Wagons, Expeditions, F-150s and some older model mustangs.
I have not seen or heard if they are getting any of the 05 mustangs.
I have a brother-in-law who is in the Grand Theft Auto Police Dept., so I'll ask him.
Also just food for thought, in the DFW metroplex there have already been 5 GTs stolen. :nono: :nono:
Make sure to get a good GPS security system.

Actually our county has just about every vehicle imaginable as a police vehicle, I think every vehicle repoed is turned into a law enforcement vehicle.

Wow, I can't believe those are still on the road! That means at the very newest, the car would be 13 years old.
Oh, and that body style actually started in 87, unless you know of a way to distinguish 87 from 88, which I don't offhand.
