I've got an automatic and am taking it to the dragstrip soon. I'm wondering if anyone here has any tips for launching.

Don?

You're going to be traction limited... I heard people only around 1500-2000 with stock tires. They seems to get about the best time with that method.

Hold the brake down tight, rev to 1500-2000 rpm, when lights hit green, off the brake, nail the gas at the same time. There will be some point when holding the brakes and reving the engine to a steady rpm the car will began to creep forward. So hold revs to just below that point.
