Random misfire/hesitation at WOT

Something that my 2011 mustang gt has been doing periodically that has been baffling me is that every once in a while when launching at the track, I'll get a hesitation or a pause while at WOT. It's almost as if the car is misfiring or pulling spark. I haven't been able to get it to do it when I'm datalogging either. It's extremely random. I can do 20 passes down the track with nothing and then all of a sudden one pass I'll get that hesitation feeling after launching. Does anybody have any ideas or has experienced this as well? The random nature of it is driving me crazy. I think I would more rather it did frequently so I could pin it down easier.

That's a good thought but I'm pretty sure this is something else. It's more like a sputter as if either spark is being pulled or not enough fuel is in the mixture as opposed to the feeling of torque kicking in with TI-VCT.

Is it towards redline (i which case Ti-VCT makes sense) or is it in lower RPM band?

It is usually in the lower band. Basically no more than 20 ft after starting to accelerate at WOT from a launch. The RPM's can't be any higher than 3,500.

This isn't my car and my car is an Auto, but this is exactly what my car is doing. Watch how the car hesitates at about 41 seconds in. There must be a nanny either reducing torque or retarding spark. I just need to figure out what nanny is doing it. I need to get this datalogged and catch it red handed.
