Thanks KBONSIG!!!! Really excited! Patience..well I hope it's not that late. We know some people at the place that we ordered from and they said that they are going to try to get it bumped up. Who knows. I guess we'll just wait and see.

sscobra, was your dealer able to get you pricing? I'm meeting with my dealer tomorrow and he says they don't have 06 pricing yet. He'll take my order, run it by his fleet manager (I also qualify for x plan).

BTW- can you tell me what to ask for while placing the order? I've heard of a DORA and now to ask for priority 10, but what exactly is a DORA and should I ask for any other info?

thx for all the help.

I also have one on order, who said there was a glut of 06 orders?
Dosen't matter if there is a back log of 05's, they will have to reorder the 06's if they want one, Ford is not automatically converting them, the dealer has to. In my case there were 8 ahead of me that did not get their 05's and did not reorder and so far I am the dealers first 06 order. The price is just a couple hundred more.
X-plan. Dealer also told me September.
My order:
2006 Ford Mustang GT Coupe

Deluxe---------------------------------130A

5-Speed Manual Trans----------44K

18†Polished Aluminum

Wheels-------------------------------64E

Wheel Locking Kit---------------17L

Active Anti-Theft Device--------14A

Spoiler Option Delete-----------13D

Interior Upgrade-------------------18G

Tungsten Grey--------------------T8

Dark Charcoal Cloth------------5W

MSRP--------------------------------$27,435.00

X-Plan--------------------------------$25,471.84 plus tax, title, registration.

Pricing is available and has been for weeks. The 1st item you should ask for is a VOC [vehicle order confirmation]. This shows the pricing as well as all of the options you are ordering. You will be assigned a priority code according to that particular dealers policies. Some dealers never use 10 as a priority instead saving it for an emergency order or something that they need to get built ASAP. If the dealer does not have many Mustang retail orders then you should be ok with whatever priority they assign.
The DORA [dealer order receipt acknowledgement] is received back from Ford within 1-2 working days and lists all of the options, pricing, and your order number and priority code. Some dealers will give them to customers , some won't.
If they accept x-plan, the DORA will state the x-plan price. If they say you will get x-plan but not give you the price, the red flags should go up.

Also at delivery for anyone who gets plan pricing, the dealer is REQUIRED to give you a copy of the factory invoice which clearly shows all of the plan prices. There is also a form they are REQUIRED to fill out with your info, the pricing, and NO add-ons other than state fees or aftermarket items you buy. They can NOT charge additional dealer markups, dealer prep charges, or any other bogus items to pad the price.

Hope this info helps. PM me if you have any other questions.

Thanks for all the info ISELLFORD. My case is kinda unique. I know most of the people at the dealership and so I didn't have too much of a headache when I went to order it. I have not gotten pricing yet. I am going tomorrow to get the VOC from them. I didn't get that the first day I was there because we were trying to see if they could find any 05's. I'm not sure that I can get the DORA now. The car was ordered on the 24th and they said they usually chunk it when it comes in. Not sure if that is true. Even though I know these people pretty good, I still tend not to trust them. Also, I must say it's bad enough when I know 10 times more about almost every car they sell at the dealer than the sales people do. However, it's really bad when you know ten times more about the order process. I mean give me a break, it's your job. You should at least take the time to know what your doing. I just hope we don't have any complications.

Congrats SSCobra,

I also have an '06 on order, placed it on 6/13 I believe. Have DORA in hand, can't wait. The aftermarket parts are lining up in the spare bedroom and you can eat off the floor in the garage. The wife says I'm obsessed, I say passionate.

I have a couple of questions, im in the market for an 06 mustang as well, and want it around march/april of 2006. If i place an order now, is it a binding agreement for me to buy it? Do i have to put down a down payment?

Also, if I order it around february of 2006, what is the earliest i would get it?

thanks!!!

Don't know about when you would get it if you ordered it in February, but just because you order the car doesn't mean you HAVE to buy it.

Whats up im new. Ordered my GT in April. Vista Blue. Im in the Army in Europe and moving duty stations to Hawaii. Suppose to be there somtime twords the end of OCT early NOV. Its going to be awesome. Man im soooo stoked. The only cars ive owned have all been like half my age and hoopties. Got to test drive one on the Autobahn. Was freaking awsome however was only on from one exit to the next due to time constraints, got it up to 135 though which by german standards isnt all THAT fast but from one exit to the next i was hauling. Anyways you all take it easy.
