Jump start...now no TCS or ABS

I used my 2006 GT to jump start my 2004 Suburban......I'll pause here for everyone to chastise me...........

So anyway, everything seemed to go fine but now the TCS Off light is on and the ABS light is on. I'm hoping it's a fuse but it's too late to check tonight. I'll look tomorrow afternoon but in the meantime has anyone had a similar experience?

Mike

I did a search before posting and came across your post regarding the ABS module and the ground issue. I'd be surprised if my issue was a ground problem, to coincidental after the jump start but please do check the location of your ground issue. Any info is good info.

I suppose jump starting could have taken out the ABS module but I would hope that the car isn't that sensitive.

Sorry to hear about that...hope you can resolve this...but for next time, go ahead and buy one of those small $30 portable 12V systems to keep on hand and use that instead...keep us posted.

Well it's fixed, don't really know how or why but it's fixed none the less. I had the exact same lights this morning when I started the car; TCS Off, ABS, and the car with squiggly lines. About 3 to 5 minutes down the road they all went out and everything seems to be working fine again. I'll have to find a wet spot on the road to really test the ABS and the TCS but the lights are out and the TCS On/Off works. While I'm glad it's working I kind of hate it when something is "broke" and then starts working. You never know what caused it so you never really know if it's "fixed".

Well, count your lucky stars and I wouldn't use your GT to jump start any other cars...

Did you jump it Black to Black and Red to Red? That might have been the problem.

Shouldn't have been my method I went:

+ to +

- on the Mustang (good battery) to a ground on the engine block of the Suburban (dead battey)
