I finally got a build week of july 18. I ordered 2/3/05 sonic blue premuim pkg spoiler delete. Since then I kept getting different stories from the delaer including getting bumped to an '06. Like I told the dealer 'I'll believe it when I see it'

 

I also have a SonicBlue GT mustang being built the week of July 18th.
Be glad you didnt get bumped, SonicBlue is not offered in 06.

There may be some truth to '06 production beginning early. I've been on order since 6.18. And yesterday, the ERL moved the build date for my 2006 GT vert up two weeks -- from w/o 8.22 to w/o 8.8. Odd, but last week's and this week's messages gave July 1 as the order status date. We shall see, indeed.

Well, I just got a call from my dealer a few minutes ago

It looks like my '06 GT Premium is serialized and scheduled

Scheduled for production: 8-1-05

Last 8 of VIN: 65100381

Looks like it will be within the first 500 of '06's off the line!

Now, I had anticipated it would take until at least September before it would get scheduled for production, but it looks like I picked the right dealer to get it sooner!

I'm selling off all 5 of my current cars in order to pay for it, as well as all the parts and associated junk I've accumulated over the years for them, so I HOPE that I'll raise enough to just walk in and pay cash for it when it arrives!

The only bad thing is--I had been counting on it taking longer before it would be available, so I really need to kick it into high gear and get all my stuff sold in a hurry! I apparently only have about 5-8 weeks before it arrives!

If all things go according to plans, judging from what others have posted, it will take about two weeks to build and ship to my dealer, so that means it will be here around the middle of August. Not much time!

What did you order? GT or V-6? Premium or Deluxe? Coupe or Convertible? What options?

I ordered a Black on Dark Charcoal GT Premium coupe with Automatic, IUP, Active Anti-Theft, Side Airbags and Locking lugnuts, but stayed with the standard Shaker 500 and the "Bullitt"-syle wheels

What kind of deal did you get? I was able to find a dealer who would take the "X-Plan", so my car will cost me right under invoice.

Looks like yours will be just the second car behind mine on the line!

 

From Sykora Family Ford in West. Black GT Deluxe Coupe w/ IUP. And off course the Bullitt's. Sykora was awesome, they had a Red GT (40)

I have an X-Plan pin, but they aren't accepting them on the Mustang, but I still got a really good deal. Very nice ppl and I highly recommend them!

 

Anybody want to take a guess at shipping times for those of us with Jul 18 build weeks? The shipping companies are still delivering cars so they will hopefully be caught completely up when they build our cars. I wonder if shipping will be extremely fast because of no queue or if it will be slow as they wait to build up enough cars to make it worth their while.

I'm on vacation at the beach the first week of August and would love to take delivery before I leave. (I have had many offers to pick it up for me but no one wants to make the down payment.)
