Thanks for the 'kwiklift' link...I got a low (8' ?) garage, and need something just like that...If I dont end up buying theirs, I think I'll definitely be making something similar someday- I like the thought of just being able to park on it, yet easily out of the way too...I gotta do something this summer, my back/legs cant handle the low work comfortably anymore. 2' under the tires would be awesome!

Yes, its no problem to back up onto the ramps. Just wedge them behind the rear wheels and backup slowly. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumb.gif[/img]

Is anyone having problems with their ramps sliding when driving up on the front wheels? I have a very smooth level garage floor with metal ramps I bought quite a long time ago and both the 65 and the 05 the ramps slide forward before you can get up on them. I borrowed a neighbors plastic molded ramps with rubber feet and the same thing happened with the 65 I didin't try the 05 on those though.

The metal ones work great with my front wheel drive cars but not rear wheel drive.

I think I mentioned a few posts back having the same problem- a couple of old throw rugs laid out on the floor first, with a few inches sticking past the low end of ramp took care of mine sliding...

NEVER rely on just the jack to hold the car up when you are working on it. I usually use the jack stands once I raise the car up with the jack, but the other day I was lazy and didn't. I let the car down after changing the oil, and went over to my other car to change the oil. I started to pump the jack, but nothing happened. It turns out that the composite piston in the jack had fallen apart. I would have been screwed if the piston would have failed when I was under the other car lol. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/worship.gif[/img] Now I ALWAYS put the jack stands under the car before I get under it.
