2005-2009 Mustang Information on The S197 {Gen1}

It was really cool to have one of the few (maybe seen 10 on the road) 2005 Mustangs in the Napa Valley, during the winter and spring. Well, as I'm sure everyone is aware 05's are available for rent. Since, I live in the second largest tourist destination in California (next to Disneyland), every third car on Hwy 29 is a darn V6 mustang.

I don't even get a second look anymore. :bang:

Oh well. I know that I'm an owner not a mustang enthusiast wannabe. Besides how much more horse power does my GT have than those V6 rentals have?

Too bad some of those thousands of V6 rentals couldn't have been some of the GT's everybody had and still are waiting for.

I know where you are comming from.I live in the other tourist state of Florida and home of Mickey Rat.Big rental fleet of 05 Mustangs here too.

I saw 5 05s (4 V6s and 1 GT) just walking to work through the parking lot today.

I remember when I was so excited to see my first one at the San Antonio Auto show last Fall

Still pretty far between here but the slack jawed double takes are no more.

Fun while it lasted though.

these aren't "Exclusive" cars alltho it seemed like it at first

get used to more and more being on the road

I was down in Wilmington, NC this past week and saw a lot of V6 Mustangs. My GT though got a lot of looks and coments from people. I felt like I was driving a $200K car the way people were treating me.

Lots of rentals on the road here too now. Even see the odd GT rental.

I have had my car since October & have about 20K on it. Still gets lots of looks & thumbs up. I have seen very few of the GT or V6 in the greater NYC area.

but you have a GT....people noitce the difference, at least around here, and the V6s are starting to be everywhere, but still one of the few GTs and I get tons on compliments still.

I'm seeing more and more of them, mostly V6's like mine, but not enough to be a common site by any means. Still gettin' the "looks"though!!!!

Around here the '05 Mustang is still rare. To my knowledge I still have the only GT. And I only know of 3 '05 V-6s. I'm still dealing with gawkers, but I guess thats the price you pay when you have the coolest looking car in town. :P

Or in my case- the coolest chick with an 05 in these parts......
97% of the 05 owners around here are male.
I still attract attention.

I especially love taking her to Georgia.

Yeah, I've been noticing that too. They seem to be flooding the whole bay area with v6 rentals. I went from seeing one or two 05 mustangs a day to seeing at least 6 or 8 (almost all rentals). Bummer, I never got to be special

I still get nods and thumbs up or waves from other drivers. Sometimes I'll notice drivers point to my car and mouth a remark to their passengers. I think they're saying something like "that's a new 'Stang" or "there's a GT." Hope it's not "Nice car... but gross color!"

It makes no nevermind; I'm happy and that's all that matters.

All things must pass as they say. Car still gets alot of attention at car shows from folks who want to checkout a GT. With the 06's shortly here, these owners can have their "day in the sun" - ordering mine was one of the best things I have done in awhile.

I went to Napa about 3 weeks ago to visit my girlfriend, and I couldnt believe all of the 05 Mustangs! My girlfriend then informed me that most of them were rentals.
She works at a winery, so she seems them often on her way to and from work
