It was really cool to have one of the few (maybe seen 10 on the road) 2005 Mustangs in the Napa Valley, during the winter and spring. Well, as I'm sure everyone is aware 05's are available for rent. Since, I live in the second largest tourist destination in California (next to Disneyland), every third car on Hwy 29 is a darn V6 mustang.

I don't even get a second look anymore. :bang:

Oh well. I know that I'm an owner not a mustang enthusiast wannabe. Besides how much more horse power does my GT have than those V6 rentals have?

I'll step down off of my soap box, now.

PHEW!?!?! I feel better.

Too bad some of those thousands of V6 rentals couldn't have been some of the GT's everybody had and still are waiting for.

I saw 5 05s (4 V6s and 1 GT) just walking to work through the parking lot today.

I remember when I was so excited to see my first one at the San Antonio Auto show last Fall

Still pretty far between here but the slack jawed double takes are no more.

Fun while it lasted though.

I was down in Wilmington, NC this past week and saw a lot of V6 Mustangs. My GT though got a lot of looks and coments from people. I felt like I was driving a $200K car the way people were treating me.

I have had my car since October & have about 20K on it. Still gets lots of looks & thumbs up. I have seen very few of the GT or V6 in the greater NYC area.

Around here the '05 Mustang is still rare. To my knowledge I still have the only GT. And I only know of 3 '05 V-6s. I'm still dealing with gawkers, but I guess thats the price you pay when you have the coolest looking car in town. :P

Or in my case- the coolest chick with an 05 in these parts......
97% of the 05 owners around here are male.
I still attract attention.

I especially love taking her to Georgia.

Yeah, I've been noticing that too. They seem to be flooding the whole bay area with v6 rentals. I went from seeing one or two 05 mustangs a day to seeing at least 6 or 8 (almost all rentals). Bummer, I never got to be special

The more Mustangs on the road the less attention they will attract from the police.

I still get nods and thumbs up or waves from other drivers. Sometimes I'll notice drivers point to my car and mouth a remark to their passengers. I think they're saying something like "that's a new 'Stang" or "there's a GT." Hope it's not "Nice car... but gross color!"

It makes no nevermind; I'm happy and that's all that matters.

All things must pass as they say. Car still gets alot of attention at car shows from folks who want to checkout a GT. With the 06's shortly here, these owners can have their "day in the sun" - ordering mine was one of the best things I have done in awhile.

I went to Napa about 3 weeks ago to visit my girlfriend, and I couldnt believe all of the 05 Mustangs! My girlfriend then informed me that most of them were rentals.
She works at a winery, so she seems them often on her way to and from work
