IPOD Jack

I just bought a 2008 Mustang. I hooked my ipod up to the jack provided using a standard jack I bought at Best Buy. It is a real loose connection, and cuts out forcing me to wedge it in place.. Is the jack a Ford specific item, or is the car jack just worn out. Hope to hear advice on correcting the problem.

If you are talking the standard AUX jack in the center console it is probably a loose connection. I have bought somewhere near 4 or 5 cables for my car from the cable wearing out, and they have been cheap ones from any brand. They all worked fine for me.

Maybe it is just unlucky that the jack wore out instead of the cable? I know I have some things in the center that sometimes press up against the jack, but like I said, I've only had to replace the cable. If you look at it, it is kind of a dumb design how the jack is mounted in the console, but I guess it could have been worse.

Yes the standard aux jack that connects in the console. It is a brand new jack that has the loose connection. That is why I though maybe the jack needed to be Ford specific and had a bigger end or something. Anyone else have a problem with the jack provided in the console becoming worn out? And how did you fix it?

Mine works just fine & I even keep the cble plugged in all of the time even if the IPhone is not plugged in. Maybe just a bad over used jack
