I bet that if the V10 makes it into anything, it will be the Ford GT or the Shelby Cobra, if the Shelby Cobra makes it to production.
I entirely suspect that Ford will give us a 5.0L 3V or 4V Mod motor for special edition Mustangs, making 350-375hp, then offer a supercharger on top of that engine for the top of the line SVT Mustang.
A V10 in a production anything Mustang would be very cool, but very expensive and very hard to sell. The last thing Ford needs is to dilute Ford GT sales, or Ford Shelby Cobra's, by offering a better and more advanced engine in the Mustang. Again, I would expect any V10 to go only in the Ford GT or Shelby Cobra for the money you spend.
What would be really cool is to see them offer it in the Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog with all needed wiring and mounts to fit a Mustang or street-rod, but still unlikely at the cost for limited production.
The FACT that Ford is offering the "Cammer 5.0" in the very near future in the FRPP catalog should speak VERY loudly to everyone, as parts of that expense are usually not done unless they are volume production piece.
Look for a 5.0L Cammer in the near future.
for the Mustang, but not the V10. :jedi:

If the SVT team can fit a lightning V8 setup in a Ranger, screw the V10 lets get a Ford GT engine and thump some torque with that HP.

Ford mentioned several times that the V10 fits the new car way back when.

Interesting that a 351 Cleveland weighs about 550 lb. (original all cast iron).
Here is what I found for weight on a 4.6L DOHC all aluminum: 464 lb, fully dressed and 437 lb. without accessories.
So an iron block super chared 03/04 Mustang Cobra engine must weigh about 550 lb fully dressed.
the 557-lb. (dressed) 351 V10

614lbs for a fully dressed DOHC 4.6
