yup it is a fairly common issue to wear out the switch due to weight. It happened to my brother in law and several friends of mine as well. As mentioned above, I don't want to scratch the plastic on my car or even my key for that fact as well as when I am out and about all I have to carry is my car key only and not worry about all my other keys. Even my other key chain I keep all keys to a minimum.

Happened to me too. I had way too much stuff on the key ring. I actually had the ignition come apart and fall out onto the floor.

Of course, that was my '69 Mustang and I was about 19 years old at the time.

After that, quick release keychain setups only for me.
