Then why does my build date say Sep 4th on the VIN sticker inside the door panel? :scratch:

Just curious. It isn't that low of a number for the Stang either, I'm number 5151, even though I understand they aren't built sequentially.

I don't have more specifics, but I believe actual production cars that were retailable units came off the line prior to Sep 7. Ford gradually moved to line to full production.

 

Thats not your build "date". It refers to September 2004.

 

Correct, that is the month/year of build.

 

Mine was 10/04, number 9907

I have a build day of 8/17/04 . Vin is 100748. Engine was built in may 04
