I want 4.10s

I have a 07 GT 5 spd with Breenspeed tune/BBK, CAI Pypes H pipe, Mac Boomtubes, and really want to finish it off with the 4.10s. My question is, I live in a small town around Memphis,Tn and I just have no clue who would be able to do this for me. I cannot do it, don't know **** about gears. I know I do have the 3.31 gears and can't stand missing out on the fun fron the 4.10s. How do I know if I can trust the mechanic to put them in for me? If I buy the 4.10s, What else do I need to purchase? I want to make sure when I drop it off with mechanic he has what he needs to swap them. My car has 38,000 miles on it now, so I'm thinking all I need are the 4.10s and mechanic to put them in?

Have you checked with your local Ford dealer service dept?

PM Eaglestroker. He's a good guy and is from the Memphis area and he could probably recommend a mechanic to you.

Your warranty can NOT be voided if an aftermarket part is installed. However, Ford can simply choose not to honor a claim if your modification(s) cause(s) a failure with a factory part. It must be a direct cause/effect relationship, as provided for in the Moss-Magnuson consumer protection legislation.

Ford dealers are an excellent place to have a gear swap done. Most have a technician that specializes in differential repairs, and they'll have all the correct parts on hand that you might forget to provide (crush sleeve, bearings, shims, traction-lok additive, fluids, etc.). I've had our Ford dealership do several gears swaps for me and they are always done right the first time and they only cost a tad bit more than an independent shop would charge, in most cases.
