.... but its not a Mustang. The wife and I were talking about having 4 cars (GT, GTO, 2 daily drivers) and having a three car garage and having to have one of the dailies sit outside in the winter. Plus the insurance on 4 cars vs. 3. So I posted an earlier thread about a Saleen Mustang and got some great feedback from the people here. Most wouldn't go with the Saleen because its too expensive for what you get. I also asked about for the money if you would go with a Saleen or a Corvette, seeing as how the price was about the same. Most said they would go with the Vette.
I found a dealer in Wisconsin that was discounting Corvettes $4000 off sticker, which is pretty good right now on Vettes. Called him up and asked about trading in the GTO, they gave me good money on the trade in, so I drive the GTO over and traded it in. Ended up about $2000 over invoice.
If anyone in the Wisconsin/Minnesota area wants a good Ford person to deal with, call Kyle Dulek at Dahl Automotive in LaCrosse. Very good people, totally understood my choice, gave me my deposit back on the GT no problem.
I'll still be hanging around as I will be interested in the special models of the GT that are coming out. Still might be able to get one of those in a few years.
EDIT: added a picture of the Z51 front brakes

This calls for Sir Mix-A-Lot! "I like big butts and I cannot lie, you other brothers can't deny..."
You should become friends with the local law enforcement so they don't bother you too much if you need to do some spirited driving.

I probably won't do any mods for a while (because I'm broke now) but plan a couple.
Here's the new stats for the Z06:
7.0 liter 427 cubic inch 505 hp small block V8, dry sump oil system, carbon fiber fenders and floor, huge cross drilled brakes, and lightweight aluminum frame. Performance numbers are 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, 1/4 mile in 11.7 seconds at 125 mph, 1.04 maximum lateral g's on the skidpad, and a 198 mph top speed
