I feel for you... But the only thing they will see is "Quality Hold"
Now if they car was released and there was a problem and they knew about the "Quality Hold"...
There is your story... And I bet you'd be even more upset.

I agree not news worthy. Whats the big deal go buy another car, Mustang, 500 or what ever you want. Or don't buy anything. Not news or a big deal to anyone but you. Sorry.

Impatience is due mostly to poor communication. Knowing what the problem is would make it easier to handle. But, it would not get the car to you any earlier.

Let's face it, we feel Ford people look at this site. While the car is retro, I would think Ford would be responsive in today's world, and would be more forthright to explain what the problem is.

DJ, you do need to chill. I think you and all those who waited (including me) should know what transpired. But, you do have to put this in context. It sounds old fogeyish, but use this to build on. Handle the disappointment with resolve, and grace. It is frustrating. When you get the car, the frustration will dissipate. It is great that you put yourself in a postiion to get this car. Pretty impressive.

I was right there with you, thinking the car would not get here in time and getting frustrated. It is one thing to feel like a stinker (and pay a bit more for being an early adopter), but another in not being able to drive the car due to its late arrival. Ford should come forward and let everyone know the story.

But, in context, the hold may be logistics.

What is there, about 8 million cars produced in Detroit. Another 8 million shipped here. Transportation required for 16 million cars. Let's say 16 cars per transport. That is 1 million trips....40 weeks, let's say. 25,000 trips per week around the country. It's amazing any cars get to their destination. Heck, I can't get a Library book back in time.

Well, We'll just see what DUANE has to say abotu that, won't we?

And guys, seriously. I know I probably seem ... insane, addicted, a little ... crazy ... but I think its ok.

I like to stir things up around here. its goos for the conversation. You all know as soon as I get my car, I will be the most excitied person on this board, ten fold of what everyone else is.

I love ya guys. Its alright if you disagree with me.. Its good for me to read what you have to say. Just don't attack me personally and I'm cool with it.

DJ, I know how upset you probably are and I would be, too. Heck, you ordered the car and you're excited, as you should be. I wish I even had one on order!!!! Anyway, I guess I'm getting old. I'm finding that getting my blood pressure up over things I can't control just ain't worth it! Good luck to you, Buddy! I can't wait to hear about your new Mustang when you do get it. It could simply be a windshield problem. Some were leaking and not seating properly and the plant was waiting on them. I think most of the delays are related to parts not getting to the plant. A leaking windshield isn't an emergency, but it would be if it's ruining the interior of my new car!

First, learn how to communicate properly and use the right resources. Call up customer service and nicely and calmly explain your situation. I am sure they have the information you want, you just need to use different means to gather it.

Nothing you can do will get you your car any quicker. All you'll accomplish is getting more frustrated, because to be frank, you won't be taken seriously. Why? because you're not legally old enough to enter into a contract.

I know it stinks but that's not going to help things. Ford's not being shady. They at least are offering a diet version of the IUP. I know the version stinks, but they are trying. I think they did a great job on this car, and at least they aren't jipping you by sending out cars that should have been recalled and giving you trouble in the long run. If it was causing that much drama, you know they would have covered it on the news already.

Just be patient. It'll all work out.

I'd have to agree with all the above posts. It a sorry situation, but trying to get the people who are making your car fired up won't help any. Not to downplay your situation; if I were to take a stab at it, I'd have to say that the reason they will not tell everyone what the problem is (if any) is that they're afraid someone will advertise it via the local news station. If there is a real issue, anouncing it will not help sales any. More than likely, they have the mentality that if people really want this hot item, they'll wait for it.

Come on guys, the first line of the letter explains it.
Don't you remember being 17 and feeling like you could take on the world.
I know I do. At that age I thought anything was possible.
I agree with what most everyone is saying, BTW.
I'm 33 now, but at 17 no one could convince me of anything.

I feel for you Dan, but your letter put a smile on my face remebering what it's like to be young. I'm not real sure when I changed, but sometimes I wish I hadn't.

I don't think it will help any and it will only frustate you more, but keep fighting and NEVER give up... on anything.

I think your course of action is a little extreme here. You state that ford is screwing you, where they really aren't. They are not obligated to give you more specific reasons why the car is being held. "Quality hold" or "Fixing defects" is really all they are obligated to tell you. Going into more depth is a bad decision for them on so many levels, from creating a mass panic of cancelled orders, to competitive secrecy.

By going into more depth on what the holdup is, Ford could suddenly lose 3000 customers that they can't afford to lose. Would you rather have them tell you "The driver seat fell off its track and the airbags spontaneously deployed so we replaced them and we think it'll be okay", or "We found a problem in production, but don't worry, we've taken care of it"?

I'd rather have option #2 myself. I may not know what was wrong, but I wouldn't worry about it. If i was told option #1, I would constantly live and drive my new car in doubt and fear.

So.. In my humble opinion... in this matter, sometimes ignorance is bliss. It stinks that you dont have your car yet, but they really are under no obligation to say what the exact problem is on their quality hold.. And they aren't doing this just to make YOU mad.

You're 17, and you've been saving for this car for 7 years...that would make you 10....I've been saving since I was 2...and galaxie has been saving since he was in the womb...top that

With all seriousness,
This happens more than you know. Quality hold is a staple of the automotive industry. You obviously wouldn't care if you weren't waiting on the car.

Patience is a virtue.
Who cares why its on quality hold.
You'll get it, eventually, and thats all that matters.

If your willing to spew forth flames because you can't have your car NOW, so be it. Its not going to change the fact you won't get it....whining or otherwise.

In my humble opinion, they messed up my car, I have a righto knwo what they messed up. Also, they essentially lied about ETA, and ahve put others ahead of me and many other customers who ordered before them.

Not godo customer relations.

Agreed.

No offense but:

They aren't going to investigate something like this. It's a whole new platform so there will be plenty of issues and delays. I would say you might have a story if you were on hold when the 06's come out but for a month? You're better off just waiting it out brother cause they already threw that email in the recycle bin.

Not that simple, seeing that it seems like every other dealer around here has the god forsaken quality holds ojn order as well (GTs that is)

The GTS that do come in are bought within minutes of hittign the lots, that is, if they werent ordered by someone else.
