The boss of the dealership told me that the spoiler is more then $295...

Cooling off periods are usually reserved for home sales and door-to-door stuff. May vary by state. In GA - no cooling off period for car purchases. But a few dealers here offer varying money back guarantees.
I've had spoliers installed and painted for less than $300 - but not on a Mustang. And I've bought aftermarket, painted to match spoliers for TBird and Marauder for $200.
A reputable dealer (is that an oxymoron?) would offer to refund the cost of the SAP.

It is my understanding that the 72 hour "buyer's remorse" law applies to all major purchases. But they will charge you for the miles you put on the car. It should be in the fine print on your contract. I don't know if they made you fill out a BCA (borrowed car agreement). They would have done that if they let you off the lot with the car before the financing was set in stone. The BCA should tell you what they'll charge for miles.

It really does depend on the state, and the dealer. Here in Arizona there is NO 3-day "cooling off period" on auto sales, and is part of every car sales contract written here. However some dealers will have some kind of provision to that.
It's been awhile since I've lived in California, but my memory tells there was a 3 day "cooling off" period on auto sales there.
All that aside, you haven't had it done yet, if you don't like the price or feel you got the shaft, then simply don't do it, and find a better alternative later. Don't make more of it than it really is.

i don't quite understand what the fuss is all about. You bought a car off the lot. That I'm assuming that did not come with the Sport Appearence pack. You told the salesman that you wanted it, they added cost to the car and told you that they would install it. Does this pretty much sound correct?
If so....if they don't have the part, just be patient...it's only a spoiler.

I got my stang on Saturday... it is now Tuesday... looks like the 3-day cooling off period won't apply to me anymore

I don't know how many times I've seen people get screwed when they don't get the terms in writing.
If you trust a salesman you don't personally know, don't be surprised if you get taken advantage of...

My understanding is that if the cooling off period applies at all, it's 3 business days. Make up your mind quick, Sunday shouldn't count. Put it in writing and give it to the sales manager. Hope it works out for you.

Nothing personal, but you went to buy your stang and you didn't have all of your information ready to combat the crooked salesman.
The salesman took advantage of it, and you just got the short end of the stick. If the one item was marked up, it's my bet that you prolly paid too much for the car all the way around, not just on the one option.
For those that haven't ordered yet and read this, take it as a hard lesson learned and save yourself some cash and time by knowing exactly what things cost before taking delivery.

I'm thinkin about returning my mustang all-together...
Do you guys know if this is possible? If so, how many days do I have to do so? Will there be a charge? If so, how much will they charge me for returning it?

I do not recall if it applies to automotive as well, but the three-day cool off period is actual federal UCC. It is the law and applies in all states and commonwealths. The question is; is the automotive sales world exempted?

If the dealer is not helpful, tell them that you will not be back, nor will you send them any referrals. And if the dealer is a good one, if you threaten them with a bad survey, they will jump through hoops...
