How much does vert soft boot weigh?
Could someone please tell us how much does the soft boot for a convertible weigh?
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a complete no hassle to 10 being a pain in the butt, how difficult is the soft boot to install and to uninstall?
I ask because my wife and I both have cranky backs so we need to be really careful not flare them up. We are having second thoughts about the soft boot and may try to remove it from our order. What do you all think?
Thanks to everyone for sharing so much great imformation with us. We really value hearing about your experiences and your opinions. You all collectively have been a big influence on our selection of a new Mustang.
Here is what we ordered Sunday:
T85/180A 2007 GT Premium Convertible
44L Automatic Transmission
64W 18" Polished Aluminum Wheels
17L Wheel Locking kits
14A Active Anti-Theft System
59B Convertible soft boot
50S Sirius Satellite Radio
53B Comfort Group
18G Interior Upgrade Package
68B Premier Trim w/ color accent package
KW Dark Charcoal Aberdeen Embossed Leather trimmed sport buckets
67L Satin Aluminum Instrument Panel Applique
AA Black Vinyl Convertible Roof
G2 Exterior Color - Redfire Clearcoat Metallic

It is very light and easy to put on / take off, but I rarely even have mine in the car as it is fairly bulky and the 05+ looks pretty good, even without it. I like having mine as it is good dress up for shows, but rarely use it otherwise.

I like the boot, but use it primarily when I can keep the top down for a few days at a time. It's very light weight, perhaps only a few pounds. At first the boot is a little challenging to put on, but once you get the hang of it, it only takes a few minutes.

I'd go so far as to say the boot weighs about 2 lbs and it takes 3 mins to put on once you figure it out. Of course, that first try is a little bit like figuring out how to get a bra off...

As far as your scale: 10 the first time, then maybe a 5 the second time... now I throw it on and off in no time - so a 2. The only reason I don't say a 1, is because you need to spend a little time making sure it's centered.

I agree with all the above. I got the cover and use it for cruise nights, shows, parades, etc. or for any special trip where I want the car to look extra sharp. It's very light and easy to use.
