I placed my order the first week of October...
the dealer submitted it on 10/19
walked into the dealer today (10/29) and got the VIN(looks like they had access to it since sometime last week)

So, hmm...
Drew, ask and you shall receive

 

I ordered mine on 10/18 and the dealer told me that it could be 2 to 4 weeks before a VIN.

 

4 months

 

I ordered my 05 Mustang GT on October 20 by phone, dealer called the next day and said the order had been placed and the VIN should arrive by the following Tuesday (10/27).
I talked to the dealer on the 27th (no VIN, check Thursday). I talked to him yesterday and he said the inventory manager was not there so he couldn't get any other information, but he did give me an order number from the paperwork.
I should know more next week.
He did tell me that the ETA for arrival is still 6 weeks out.

 

I ordered on 7/20/04. The Dealer Told me on Friday (yesterday) That my order was was on hold for a (Cerialized Hold) He did not know what that ment so he called the ford rep and the rep told him He did not know what it meant as well. but would try to (Walk the order through)Anyway still waiting But A lot closer than I was In July!

 

So if i ordered 10/27 when should i try and call for my VIN and/or DORA?

 

Ordered 9/23 got my VIN about 2 weeks later.

 

I ordered my 05 GT on Sept 29 and got my VIN# the very next day! I spoke with my dealer last Thursday (Oct 28) and was given a delivery date of November 4!

 

I ordered my GT 9-15, received my vin two weeks later....have a build
date of 11-01.
