How long till you got your VIN?
I ordered mine and it took 3 days. Mind you, the dealer already had the car in line, ordered to be built. I got my order in in time so that they could get the options I ordered included.
I ordered mine on July 26. No VIN yet. In fact, I just got a call last week that was bad news. The dealer told me that he could not order the car yet. He said his first allocation was already ordered and he will not get new allocation until Nov. Funny, that he did not tell me that when I ordered.
Kluski- check your dealer again.
I ordered 7/22, and didn't have a VIN as of last week (called and talked to the manager, he may have just said "nothing yet" to get me off the phone). My dealer came back from vacation and yesterday he sent me an email with my VIN, and my build date.
See my sig! I'm being built this week!
So, after over 2 months of no schedule, no VIN, I get a VIN and my car is being built the same week. I think they got a backorder of IUP in or something (grin).

i am getting one of two allocated vehicles to arrive at my dealer, I went in and I spec the car in July, and I still have not received a darn word from the dealer about the progess of my car and its really upsetting me, no numbers no release number or date, NOTHING! no disrespect to those who have received their numbers and those who have not gotten there's yet, but I'm sick of sitting here waiting. I need a new car before my POS takes a crap on me and its bound to happen within the next two weeks or so, I have been patient and I have been nice to my dealer and have not disturbed or stalked them about my car, all that I'm askin from my dealer is answers and not information that is not true and it gets my hopes up.

So I am in the process of talking to other dealers. I found one similar to my car (but with more upgrades) that is due in mid-nov. So I am probably going to switch to this guy. But I want to ask a few mroe questiosn to make sure he is telling me everything first.
I ordered my GT on 9/16.
I just got my VIN yesterday
The dealers tells me that its already built but doesn't have a ship date yet. It seems like most here received a VIN THEN a Build date THEN a ship date.
It would rule if its already built

I am just wondering how Ford can be so different. I mean they are not uniformed at all. Some people get their vin's in three days and some in three months. I find it hard to believe that a company as large as Ford can not get this straight. I work for a company larger then Ford and I have never witnessed something so stupid.
