Hood Lining

I have a question.

I have had my car since Nov.

I did not notice until about a month ago that there is hole or rip in the lining of the felt under the hood.
It looks like maybe it snagged on the engine somehow. It is about the size of a silver dollar.

Would this covered under the warrenty to be replaced?

Mine is in the shop now and that is one of the items on my list. I'll let you know what they say/do.

I would expect it to be covered under the bumper to bumper warranty.

Anyway to see what part of the engine hit it? Maybe a loose motor mount or such?? I suspect it'll just get damaged again, so you might want to find the cause first (or the dealer for that matter)

It looks like it is in the middle back top part of the engine.

Here is a pic I took awhile back. Did not know at the time that I got this in the pick was looking through pics in hopes had one to show.

mine has the same hole. also, it seems like the hood lining is "sagging" down from the hood. gonna have it looked at next week when i get oil changed.

My lining sags down. I've tried about 4 different types of double sided tape and nothing sticks to the liner. I won't even bother with the dealer as they'll blame one or all the changes under my hood. It was doing it as soon as I got the car. Oh well...Won't matter when I get the California Dream hood... :-)
