They are very color, but the Candy Apple is definitely a deeper shade of red.

It could be that the sun is hitting the bumper,that will make it look off color. a true Kandy apple will change color according to the light source. I would like to see it in person to really be able to judge if it looks like a true kandy apple paint. which when done right it is one of the prettiest colors bar none. It might be a couple of years ,but I'm going to paint my car a kandy apple red over a silver or gold base coat.

 

Candy Apple, to me, looks like its got more gold tones in it and it has a flatter look to it when compared to Redfire. They are VERY similar in shade though.

 

I'll reserve judgement until I see one in person but calling this color candy apple red is really stretching it. If anyone has ever seen a streetrod painted candy apple red you would understand.

Similar color but it probably doesn't have any metal flake and it looks like it is truly candied.

I must disagree with the "same color" theory.

They are similar, this I will admit, but the Redfire has a blue tint in it that the DCARCM does not. Further, the DCARCM is a couple of shades darker. There is a thread, http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=68790, that has pics of the two cars next to each other... you should be able to see the blue in the Redfire fairly well there, in the front fender wheel arch areas. A couple of other threads show the blue tint too...

Redfire will show that blue hue depending on lighting. The Candy Red will just be Red. And I have seen the Candy Apple in person... Definitely not the same color.

Most Candy colors are merely colored clear coats with a different colored base sprayed under them to achieve various shade of the Candy Color itself. Here is a perfect example on my F-150 I have HOK Candy green Flames with tow different colored base coats one purple which is the main flame color and then the outlined are is Silver which makes the Candy Green lighter.If you look at the picture you will see a lighter shade of the green on the outside edge.

I couldn't put my finger on the Candy Apple red until I saw one parked right next to a redfire fusion today in both clouds and bright sun. It looks odd in person. The Candy Apple looks fantastic with your eye 12" from the paint where you can see the metallic, but from normal viewing distance-it is without a doubt, 100% dead solid perfect ringer, for ketchup. It looks like the car is made out of it. The fusion was filthy and still looked great.

Redfire is so rich and vibrant, and the color flows from crease to crease and reflects the light differently. The CA red looks dead solid from any distance, the metallic flakes are too small without enough silver/gold to it. I don't know what they were thinking

And no, its is in no way, shape, or form a true candy color. Tried with two cameras, still doesn't capture the difference in levels of vibrance between the two. And the pic at least on my monitor is flattering the CA red and not doing Redfire justice.

Interesting observation!!

 

It seems from the pictures that you can really see the HID metal -tongue like arm that lies in front of the lens (coming up from the botton), especially with the lights on...is it really that noticeable? Seems to detract from the "round" trademark SN197 headlight.
