If the Powerstroke weighs in close to what an I-6 Cummins does, it'll be around 1,000 pounds....I doubt a Mustang would handle very well with that much weight on the front.

Oh I see, OK....

Hmm, V8 Turbodiesel in a Mustang? Maybe they'll go for that?

Yes, because anything with 500+ horsepower will fail to excite next to a prius. Throw me a set of keys to a viper and a prius and see which one I let fall to the floor.

Sure the Viper is entertaining in the short term, but the Prius is a hell of a lot more impressive. All Essque is saying is that he wants the car companies to move in the "Viperius" direction.

If only for the fact it allowed toyota to convince everybody they were the saviors of the earth. As it turns out the Prius isn't the fuel sipping wonder machine it was billed as (there are pure deisel econoboxes which better it)and was more or less a vehicle engineered to beat the old fuel econmomy tests, when they changed the test criteria for fuel mileage the prius generated numbers more inline with real world observations, then again I'm "meh" on hybrid or pure electrics.

If mercedes manages to pull off their on/off engine scheme - when you come to a stop, the engine shuts itself off and when you hit the gas it restarts and accelerates in seemless fashion, that would be impressive to me, gasoline engines which operate virtually like deisel engines (compression charge ignition something or other) will also be interesting to see.
