Help on what to do! NOS Kit

New to the forum!
I recently bought a used 08 GT that's been decently modified already. FR intake, FR TB, Steeda CAI, BBK LTs, BBK xpipe, MBRP full stainless exhaust, lowered on eibach springs, staggered authentic Shelby wheels w/ nitto tires, raxiom tail ligts and last but not leas unknown gears... my gut tells me at least 3.73s as the car pulls hard off the line. Bought the car from a dealer and he says it's on a 93 tune.

The problem I think I have...is that the dealer did not have the tuner that the previous owner used to make the tunes/adjustments.

What do I do? I want to get a zex NOS kit and use a 75 shot as I've done some research and I believe this is all I want as it will never be used for track/race....just an occasional extra fun.

I talked with a local guy who runs a dyno shop and said if I dont have the tuner he will need to flash the car back to stock and then go fron there. Is this true....do I need to mess with a tune with just a little 75 shot.

Long winded, but I wanted to get as much info out there. Thanks guys for any help.

1. To find out what rear gear you have without opening up the rear end you can either jack up the rear end of the car, have one person watch the driveshaft have another person turn a rear wheel exactly one complete turn. The number of times the drive shafts make one spin is the ratio (3 and 3/4 turns is 3.73, 3 and 1/3 turns would be 3.31s, ect.) The other way is to run the car on the highway and put the trans into what ever gear is the 1:1 gear (usually 4th in a manual trans, not sure which one it is on the 6 speed autos, I would have to look it up). Go to 70 MPH and what your tach reads is your ratio 3700 rpm is 3.73s, 3300 rpm is 3.331s ect.
You will need this info for the tune by the way.
2. Yes, you need a tune for nitrous. Without it your motor will run lean when you spray. Go too lean and you can say good bye motor. You would need a tune to gain full potential of your bolt on mods anyway. I suggest you do some seriously through research when it comes to spraying. If you don't understand the componets or skip components, or your tune is off, you will be in need of a new motor fairly soon.

Ok, thanks! The nitrous is something for down the line, so I will be reading up on it quite a bit before pulling the trigger on that. I will look into finding out what gears the car has.
