Help, valve covers do not match?

Like the title says I have received a set of valve covers that I took apart and was on my way to get them painted when I check and made sure they match up with mine before I left to the painters.

And guess what, NOPE. The bolt pattern does not match up. Also the I had to pop out next to the valve (don't know its name) is different. Mine is notched and the ones I received were not. Will these still work with my car? I was hoping to get these to the painters after work but this might not happen now.

Any help would be great.

That's odd.
I think what you just got were the '08 covers. They have fewer bolt holes.
I thought you had an '08. Your car has the earlier covers like on my '06.
They should fit, but I wonder what is what now.

They changed the bolts pattern starting on the 07's.

Humm I know that my 05 GT has differnt design covers than my 07 GT/CS so the K&N CAI holder upper didn't bolt on to my 07 valve cover maybe those runs or ridges are the only differanc if the bolt holes are the same it should work.

I think all they did was remove tabs on the newer ones and they decided they didn't need the tabs on the connector.
It should be okay if you don't mind fewer bolts (I would mind).
Personally I would send them back, but they gave you covers for the '08 GT.
My question is still,"I thought the car was an '08, which should match?".
Did Roush put on the valve covers?

Ok this is what I have found. The valve covers I am going to be painting are off an 07. My car is an 06. They obviously changed the bolt pattern.

However, from what I hear on another forum they ARE interchangeable. It will be +/- a few bolts. I hope they are correct, I will be spending about $150 for a paint job for them tomorrow.

This is what I was told from another forum
All 05-08 4.6 car and truck are interchangeable. You will need to go to your local Ford dealer and buy cam sensor seals for 07 and up for that cover. You will also be +/- bolts depending what year! Make sure to use correct valve cover gasket for year of cover installing.
Thanks for the responses, if you think i'm wrong please tell me now!

That is exactly what I was trying to say.
If yours is an '06, they are wrong but they will fit.
If you told whomever you ordered from that you had an '06, they gave you the wrong ones and I would send them back.
I prefer the original design but it is probably overkill for cam covers.

Its hard to free. I did not pay anything for this extra set of stock valve covers. They are from a friend who upgraded to chrome covers, all I had to pay was shipping
